For some reason, I've been wondering what happened to Gemmill ever since Northern Rock got nationalised. Probably been seconded to work for MI5 or something.

Much of the nightlife scene in central Edinburgh's been gentrified - i.e. sterilised and repackaged for posing cocktail-quaffing, self-conscious, uppity fucking tosspots. It's a beautiful place to visit for a day or two, but once you've done the whole Castle/Old Town/New Town thing I think you'd get pretty fucking bored. And the weather's piss awful.

YOU THOUGHT I WAS AN ASSHOLE? I thought I explained this earlier on in this thread. I was being somewhat sardonic in my use of the word "arsehole". All I was saying was that the period when you were there, alongside Vic, Stevie, Gemmill and even Snoopy - it was quite a fun place to hang out mainly because of people playing up with each other. Anyway, I get the sense I'm being reverse-whooshed or whatever you call it. Suffice to say no ill feelings from me to any of the above named.

There was no official reason given GM, if you look in hoose o the banned you won't see me, because the reason I was permanently banned is so laughable. I mentioned it earlier in the thread. I've said far far far worse things to admin on here, I was genuinely out of order for one thing I said which I sincerely apologised for. That's the difference this board is ran by adults, whereas Newcastle Online is ran by people still workin oot how to put a blob on.

I'm struggling to remember why Stevie got banned from N-O... Happy days though, back when Verlaine, Invicta Toon, Stevieintoon, Gemmill, Snoopy and others used to all add to a rich tapestry of arseholes - canny craic guaranteed.

I suppose, like any artist(e), he has a right to feel aggrieved if he feels his brainchild is being exploited for commercial gain and he hasn't sanctioned it. Odd really, I've met the creative director at The Leith Agency, the Edinburgh based ad firm that has the Irn Bru account, have to say they're all very proud of their work on the Snowman campaign and rightly so I think it shows a humour and imagination rarely used in advertising.

Prague is nice and small, everything worth seeing is easily walkable, but beware of crafty pickpockets who approach you in the street at night making out they're handing out flyers for nightclubs etc, only to whip your wallet off you. Happened to a mate of mine on his stag do and put a bit of a downer on things for a while. Not that it would be of much interest to you anyway, but at the weekend you'll see the seedy side of Prague come to the fore - including great big fat pimps trying to flog midget girls for group sex with stag parties. Yup, I kid you not...midgets being touted around for group sex sessions for what really was quite a staggeringly cheap price.

Mine did the same last week. No problem adding stuff once restored though, I'm up to 19Gig so far. The second generation one(s) I had were a nightmare. Sent two back to apple and they send you another reconditioned one before they even look at yours. Excellent customer service. Just register at apple.com and tell them about it, they'll send you a pre-paid box to send it back to them. Even if it's miles out of the warranty? Ah, well, I'm not sure about that. You not got new for old insurance? House insurance you mean? I think wor lass skimped on that so I think I might still be fucked. It sounds like the hard drive is fucked and there's not much can be done if that's the case and you haven't got extended warranty already - it would probably be cheaper just to get a new iPod (and yes, I know you specifically stated that wasn't an option you wanted to entertain)

Tell you what though, the fact that it's one rule for them and another rule for the rest of us boils my piss. A possibly z-list minor Royal gets a nice little injunction preventing the media reporting anything in detail. Anyone else would struggle to get such special treatment. Couldn't give a fuck about whatever it is that some posh twat's got to say about knocking off a minor Royal (Beatrice is my educated guess by the way) or whatever, yada yada...but it's the two-tier judiciary that gets up my nose really.
