  1. If results stay how they are right now, Spurs will be bottom and the only club with no points...

    Insomnia

How does that help? Sounds like an old wives tale to me. Well she is an old wife after all...
  3. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! I seem to remember you being a particular fan... That thread was my nemesis. Then what a great reason to resurrect it!

    Shin Splints

Have you been properly diagnosed with shin splints or is it something you suspect from how you are feeling? Have you had a bone scan? I worked in a hospital where the military would send their patients and I did a lot of bone scans on young GI types, and once shin splints were diagnosed the army were forced to rest them. Often the patients wouldn't show up for their appointment because if their scan was positive they'd not be allowed to exercise until the condition had healed. If the military are that strict on their soldiers not training with shin splits, that tells you the seriousness of the condition. If you have diagnosed shin splits and you don't rest, you're an idiot.
  5. I really struggle to keep up with how many podcasts I listen to. Mostly comic book related ones to be honest. SModcast, Around Comics, Comic Geek Speak, Devil and Me, Word Balloon, Crankcast.

    Sex

So you're not really straight edge, seeing as how you've ignored that whole 'no promiscuous sex' thing. I have no other contribution because I'm boring and it's all been pretty normal.
  8. How to delete this poster? He has become useless and I would not like to asscociate myself with it, any longer.
  9. Yeah, but this isn't statistical variation that's being discussed. It's not as though we're doing a medical study for example and we're looking at variation in ages or whatever, it's a hard number that they're estimating. That line is just pure wank trying to make their point sound more intelligent than just "uh, we're not sure how many people have died but it might be this many."
  10. All I got from that was 'porn, daughter, passworded' You're a sick man my friend.
  11. So how dodgy is the stuff you're trying to hide?
  12. Zane Lowe is a Kiwi. I am now double offended.
  13. You should read the book. It's better. They followed the book pretty much to the letter... Cracking all the same though. Palahniuk himself says the film is better. When the author of the book prefers the film that says it all.
  14. I was asking about Shearergol, not Gemmill.
  15. Okay, so I've been online again for about a week or so and while on here I haven't seen Shearergol. When I was last on here regularly you couldn't get the bloke to shut up and now, gone. So, to those in the know, what happened to him?
  16. You could change your ava to this if you wanted It's because of this talk yesterday that you'll get no favours of any kind from me.
  17. I don't think there are enough options up front at the moment to play the 4-3-3, unless you want Shola in the team. I felt that formation relies on Viduka, and without him there's no one big enough to play up front in that role. Viduka playing with his back to the goal and holding the ball up for Owen and Oba to run. Neither Shola nor Smith are good enough to take his place.

    Today

Is Minsk in South America now? I don't think N'Zogbia was the weakest player on the pitch yesterday, that was Duff by a long way. However, if Bolton were a better side he would have had the team in a lot of trouble. With Zog out of position so often Bolton should've played down the right far more than they did, I just don't think they have the talent. Zog went forward more often than Jonas did, and the fact that Jonas was dropping back to cover him was the only reason I can't slate Zog's game too much.
  19. I know Stevie doesn't like me and thinks I'm a casual fan and that's fine with me. My situation is that I have family that emigrated to Australia in the 1960s from North Shields. Much like the other Aussies on here I followed the club as best as I could from home, and I guess I tried to contribute in my way by buying my shirts from the club shop and all that, but then I moved to the UK. Now, my job is a little specialised and while I've been able to live all over the UK doing it, there's not a huge demand in the north-east. Fine, so be it, my employment agency have known for four years that I would kill to get a position in a Newcastle hospital to the point that I've built a good reputation and I'm going to be the first one informed when one becomes available, but I digress. I am an out of town fan. I get to matches when I can however I guess I'm just not loyal enough because I wasn't willing to travel from Portsmouth, Southampton or Torquay each week to get to the match because while I could've afforded the ticket each week, the travel costs alone would have been crippling. Now, I managed to luck into a ticket to Old Trafford last weekend when they went on general sale. Do I feel guilty that I got a seat when a 'hardcore' fan could have had mine? Hell no. It was on general sale meaning that anyone could've called up and bought one. I have a ticket to the home matches against Bolton and Hull and again, general sale means anyone can buy one. I'll also attempt to get a ticket to Arsenal in a few weeks should any hit general sale. I'd love to be able to have a season ticket and go each week but the sad reality is I can't so I go when I can. Sure I haven't been to St James in a year, but tell me, have any of you ever had a bad year where you just couldn't spare the money? I'm envious of everyone on here that gets to go to games week in week out, and there are more than a few people that have probably laughed at me and my over-excitement before games while we've been in the Trent because getting to a match just means that much to me. I don't see this as me trying to justify myself or my position, just that for some of us arsehole out of towners it's just a fact of life that we can only do what we can, where we can. Sure I could move to Newcastle tomorrow and get a pub job because it's all us Aussies are really qualified to do anyway, but I love what I do and I keep hoping that maybe one day I can do that AND get to live locally so I can go to matches each week.
  20. Hang on, Gemmill has no right calling anyone fat seeing as he is the fattest of the fat around here. Or have things changed since I've been gone?
  21. If you'll be there Martin looks like I have to come across for that too. Ah, reunions.
  22. You're 51?! I'll be there on Saturday and I don't know if I want to drink with someone old enough to be my grandad...
