Think the latest article was a tipping point, it was only mild befuddlement before the comment about Carver guiding us to safety -

Getting sick and tired of his pro-Carver bias. -
These emo-Carver images are superb. Moar

Jones is dreadful -
Really enjoyed this little twitter conversation, especially Thelonious Monk's concluding contribution.

I was genuinely disappointed that he didn't give Santon a few minutes

Well that goal doesn't happen without a piece of Oscar magic, so it wasn't that bad from our part. Just got cut open with good play.

Cabella's disallowed goal was lovely. Quick counter attacking interplay with a decisive finish. Been a while since we scored a goal like that.

Nah, think HBA had fallen out with a few players. Burnt bridges.

He inherits a squad far more suited to his brand of football. That plus the momentum a new manager brings will probably see them through this season. It's the long term they should worry about. Janmaat seemingly hates Pardew. Good.- 10610 replies

Yep. No point reading that fantasy trash past the title.

Armstrong Are you mad?
-
nope, was more complex that that i agree with you though, in that carver's decision making cost us but let's not wander off into the realms of worthless irrelevant hypotheticals
-
to be honest im sure pardew would have lost that game in the tactics truck before the match
-
We played nothing like a Pardew side for the first 45 minutes. We attacked, committed men forward, played out from the back. It was good attacking football. The problems came in the second half when Burnley took the game to us and Carver was not able to make the changes to keep a firm footing.
-
Cabella sat on the bench. At home. Against Burnley. Let that sink in.

Some thoughts. 1) Carver got the set-up right in the first half. Burnley allowed us to come onto them and we did just that, well. 2) Carver made an absolute 100 car pile-up fireball of the second half. 3 system changes is not wise. 3) The first change saw us go 4-1-4-1 and leave a lone striker, which ended up as Armstrong. What good is he going to do in that role? 4) Then we ended up with a 3-5-1-1 formation, which resulted in our attacking play being really spread and hindered our ball retention. When will get see a Newcastle team that uses possession as a defensive tool? 5) Alnwick can't save a shot that's a yard either side with pace. Seems like he has really stumpy poppadom arms. 6) Whoever decided that Alnwick was a worthy 3rd choice needs to get their head checked. Loan keeper in January please. Krul, Elliot and Darlow for next season. 7) Ayoze is fucking brilliant.
-
What an absolute mess Carver has made in the second half. Several formation changes and awful substitutions. Jesus Christ.

Tiote is struggling to work in this system btw. I don't think he needs to be dropped cos he's so important in defence, but something needs to be done about his poor possession play. Like maybe make sure that 1/2 short options are always on if he has it. Or maybe give him hoof instructions when under pressure.

Think Riviere is a decent battering ram, but my word his close control and all round close ball play is dire. Has the agility of a wonky oil tanker.
