  1. It had the potential to be good though - I think the first half, where they were setting it up as all of the poor revolting against the rich, was quite appealing - but then they transformed the bad guy into some psychotic bounty hunter and it became a generic action film rather than one with an underlying poiltical message.
  2. Oh God, my sympathies... I can't stand IKEA.
  3. Ok that sets the scene - I think for me, the thing to work out is why the Enclave need Ailidh, or children in general, and what their overall objective is - I know it mentions restoring science, but is that the overall thrust of the book, or is the story hijacked by unforeseen events (you mentioned dark forces in your earlier passage).
  4. So... From this discussion I'm picking up that Jonas may or may not have a clause in his contract, depending on respective propensity among forum members for sucking crown bowls? Or something...
  5. Yeah, you need an account to view it - with that said, are you looking to find a publisher? If so, you just need a working title; the publisher will likely come up with the official one as they'll have a greater sensitivity to market need. If you're going to self publish then that's a slightly different kettle of fish - do you have a blurb that you can post here? Also, what is the current title?
  6. I'd agree - I went out for my birthday with a few lads (all about 28) and one of us got really pissed, to the point where he was slouched in a heap outside a bar between two wheelie bins and was too incapacitated to move. We had to phone his dad to pick him up at 3am because we couldn't stand him up without fully supporting his weight... Needless to say, he was pretty embarrassed when he came to, a week later. ...And no, it wasn't me. You're supposed to have gotten it all out of your system by this age though, certainly.
  7. Now that's interesting - I'm going to have to rethink my mental image of you. Which in fairness is heavily influenced by your avatar. ...I thought you were from the 1950s, basically.
  8. I had us 6th too, with Man City winning and Sunderland, Cardiff and West Ham down. We were tied on points with Everton for 5th but they had a better GD. Watch us now finish 13th.
  9. Out of interest, did you find that on Cheezburger? I just came across it and was about to post it here too! Awesome spider.
  10. I think Pardew had the game plan right, but I also wondered at the point in launching crosses into the box when no one was there or Remy was on his own with both centre backs...
  11. I think he's earned another run in the team - and if Sissoko is looking leggy (which he is) then what harm can it do. It's not like Sissoko is one of the players we rely on for keeping it tight at the back anyway. Also, I swear I saw Ben Arfa tracking back and hassling people a couple of times yesterday... If we play him against West Brom and he scores, we'll all love him again.
  12. I don't understand where all their money comes from... they're a bit like Sunderland in their ability to spend huge sums of money on absolute shite. They're usually in the top five or six spenders each year though. And yes, I think last year might have been the best bet for relegation.
  13. That's a fair point - I was going to say the one's where you expect them to get hammered but they tend not to lose by many because they're so adept at breaking up play. With that said, they're a team that we seem to be able to put away with relative ease, and the team that comes up could be someone like Brighton =/
  14. I was thinking the other day that I can't remember a time when we passed the ball around so well as we are this season. I know the game has changed from a few years back and that ball retention is now more important than it used to be, but I can recall feeling the same way with Newcastle as I do about England once, in being perpetually frustrated by our inability to string passes together. It's nice to see that Pardew has us playing like this.
  15. Agreed, when I read about it earlier it sounded bad but recoverable. Starting to fear the worst now =/ Hope he pulls through.
  16. !!! Well, bizarrely, we all seem to be in relative agreement on this one. Happy days, even in defeat. We have a six point gap ahead of Southampton as well, which should see us comfortably for a while.
  17. I love all of the predictions about how good he'd come at the start of this thread Shows what we all know.
  18. I'd forgotten Marveaux even existed...
  19. Took the words right out of my mouth!
  20. Which is why if we get a player like Gomis (assuming he's any good - the Lukaku mold), and push Remy onto the left, we'll be some team.
  21. Schadenfreude is about all they've got at this point. With that said though, I have the impression that a few people on RTG don't leave their houses (ever) so this might be what gets them through life.
  22. This for me. I accept the points the others are making too but it's not like we lost because of him. That time he shot near post instead of far; no other player on our team would even have gotten into that position (I recall him taking Flamini out through skill alone).
  23. Yeah I'd agree with that also. Strong both defensively and offensively, with a header off the line thrown in.
  24. I think the positive is that for the first time in a long time, we looked within touching distance of Arsenal in terms of overall quality. On another day we would have held them to a draw at least.
  25. I didn't understand that - it literally invited pressure. If they'd kept Walcott on we would have been unable to commit so aggressively for fear of him tearing away. I guess Wenger will argue that it worked though.
