If things are improved behind the scenes, the general population won't relate this to improved standards of living. I was thinking about this last night. If Brexit really could cause prolonged inflation, then the impact on standard of living will be much worse than the 5% I had envisioned. This year alone, the average pay rise in the private sector is 4%, which is a real terms 7% pay cut. It will be worse in the public sector after more than a decade of cuts. We'll never get that back.If this goes on year in year out, the painful adjustment Gove spoke of, it'll make the 1980s look like a cake walk.

I don't even think that's right, it's a matter of timing. Honestly, in case you haven't, you should listen to the whole podcast Gemmill referenced, not just that episode, but the whole series. It's really informative. It's called "Oh God what now?" which I thought was a terrible name after Remainiacs, but it has turned out to be spot on. People like Dunt and Andreou offer real insight. Also a lot more funny than the New Statesman I also listen to.

Trump was/is a Russian stooge. A lot were against Clinton because she was hawkish, but in retrospect, that was probably the right thing in certain circumstances. She wasn't the best choice though, no, and Biden is worse. Trump didn't just affect the US either. He emboldened populist arseholses throughout the World, including Johnson.

Clinton and Starmer have both been treated quite shabbily imo, but especially the former. I think the World would be in a much better place had she won. I don't think Ukraine would have happened for starters.

I was. There's too many variables really, just depends what you want. OS, screen size, etc. If you're Android, I'd go for a Google Pixel 6, which match the top end Samsungs in most areas and have arguably the best camera going. About £600 I think.
