  1. Aye, I can't get my head round any of it to be honest.
  2. We had some pretty awful news at work this week. There was a lad who did his sandwich year from Northumbria University with us two years back. We'd normally have an IT undergrad but we'd just taken an IT grad on so we decided on using someone studying in the marketing area to try and help raise our social media profile and all that sort of thing. A lass from another company in the building (all the lasses fancied him as he was a handsome young lad) said they'd just seen on the Daily Mail that he'd been killed. In July last year he'd started working down in London in marketing. Only a month or so later he was out on a night out with a colleague. He was in a taxi with him and, according to the story, as a prank he'd thrown the other lad's shoe out the window. There was a bit of a scuffle so the taxi driver chucked them both out. It must have continued and this lad's colleague ended up punching him in the back of the head. He went to A&E the following night complaining of a severe headache. He collapsed and died with a massive brain haemorrhage. He was 23. I'm not just saying it but he was a genuinely lovely lad and one where you felt the world was his oyster. It was in the paper because the colleague of his had just been found guilty of his manslaughter. Apparently the same lad got done for drink driving in 2003, then again a year later and also had a conviction in 2013 for battery where alcolhol was again a factor. The comments from the prosecuting QC also implied there were a few other cautions and the like along the same lines. He's only 32. What a fucking waste of a life.
  3. Speaking of which http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-38573167 What a fucking laugh, eh? Probably wears novelty socks
  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-38579407 Just awful.
  5. Depends what you're after really. Benton / Forest Hall are really well linked in terms of public transport etc. and only a little bit further out than the likes of South Gosforth but are pretty much leafy suburbs. Heaton and South Gosforth are more 'urban' in you like with a much greater choice of places to eat and drink with decent boozers you can walk to with the likes of the Millstone and Brandling with the latter. None of them are particularly cheap like in terms of buying a place.
  6. I heard about that on the news this morning. What the fuck?
  7. It should be sold along those lines. Especially since half the disenfranchised types (for want of a less polite phrase) won't bother voting come the next GE anyway. And it looks like any gains from UKIP could be Labour rather Tory losses anyway. Just thinking though, I wonder how much the press and the traditional parties will go after UKIP. Because going after Trump seemed to have the opposite effect to that which was intended. Loads of fuckwits will lap up his shit
  8. Nah, you're right actually. Given the way it's changed so much since they were ITK when Shepherd was running the show it was an unfair criticism when I think about it. I think they're a couple of miserable buggers but in terms of what they do, i.e. stats, match reports, ticket and travel info and the like they're comfortably the best NUFC site out there.
  9. True enough. Especially since she stayed out of the campaign for her own political gain.
  10. He hasn't played for the USA for about 5 or 6 years either.
  11. The clue was that the people making the proposals were the people who would be voting on whether or not to enact them
  12. Something to do with the home-grown players quota perhaps?
  13. I should have said he's meant to be 27. Hard paper round
  14. Not that I have a great deal of sympathy for her, but the greatest PM in the world eva has placed her and the government in a pretty shitty position regarding all this.
  15. He meant The Secret History
  16. I think you'll like it. Nice little film that would appeal to your sense of adventure. Edit: @@catmag
  17. @@catmag Have you seen Maidentrip?
  18. Aye, plus I'm not bothered because it was obvious it was going to happen once it was proposed
  19. I've had a cold of late but I think I'm ok
