Willock coming on at RW for Murphy against Bournemouth said it all. He was completely ineffective, not alone on Saturday, of course. I don't know if we have any money to reinforce the squad this month, the noises coming out of the club suggest not, but if we do, it's the obvious area that needs to be improved.

we can blame the defensive mistakes that led to goals. Bruno’s in particular was a howler but Bournemouth had our number today. Their press was as good as I’ve seen from any opponent this season and we had no answers. They didn’t give our defence or midfield a second to play out and they boxed Tonali in at every opportunity, forcing mistakes when we tried to play out. I thought surely they can’t keep this up for 90 minutes but we were the side that looked ragged second half. I can’t remember the last time we were so beaten so emphatically

Bournemouth have bullied us all game. I thought they would tire second half with the intensity they’ve played at but the opposite has been true. We’ve been sloppy and so ragged. Joelinton, Hall and Bruno miles off the pace. Their second and third goals coming from defensive howlers. Full deserved loss, annoyingly
