Have to say that this was on my radar too as Croatia's third went in. If he stays past the summer then I think we'll all be happy he's not flogged himself to death across the course of an intense knock-out competition, while knowing he was not fit to do so. No way of knowing what his injury/fitness status would have been come summer but to me that was a very real risk that he would definitely have taken.
