At the moment things are going so well, it feels untrue. We got a decent manager who (despite being on holiday) immediately started working on the future, we are already really working on our targets and it looks like we could for the first time have assembled the core of the squad ahead of pre-season training. And we get a new owner. I hope I don't wake up too soon. Was just thinking the same. I'm half delirious at the fact that we look like bringing in 3 new signings in June - JUNE FFS!? At this rate Freddy can have August 31st off, or at the very least have an early finish.

Anyone else feel a bit different about being linked with a foreign player, knowing we've got a manager that knows how to assimilate them into a squad? I don't have that instant feeling of "this'll never fucking work" like I normally do.

His statements have been the least of our concerns tbh. It's his major decisions that have caused us grief. He's not the head honcho any more. He answers to a boss.

The overall strategy of the club will be decided by the bloke who owns it in conjunction with his advisors and maybe a chief exec or something. Freddy will be there to interact with other Premier League chairmen, negotiate and finalise transfers, all that stuff that he's actually been pretty good at. Where he's been completely lacking is having an overall vision for the club, which is no longer going to be his job. As much as we think Shepherd is incompetent, he has a ton of experience of running a football club. He just lacks the wherewithall to give it some direction. Now he doesn't need to worry about that. See what I mean?

There'll be plenty change - Shepherd is no longer the man calling the shots for starters. Day to day he'll oversee the running of the club but the big decisions will no longer be in his hands. Which is basically what we've all been hoping for.
