1. Worrying if they did sign him permanently, because he'll be enjoying time in the Championship next year, along with all those other second-rate foreigners they've bought with all that cash.
2. Yup, draw a Premiership team and we'll lose, draw a lower division team and it's a potential bananaskin... but I think tbh we've got one of the best draws possible.
3. Proper right-winger and doesn't drink alcohol - somebody we clearly need here.
4. Well that would have been an acceptable excuse from the Souster, well I thought so, until I read his daughter was okay... fair enough if she is currently in hospital - and that would be an excuse for us for him to leave too.
5. It means they are allowed to be irrational in many people's eyes...
6. Rational? I've been far more rational than other people here but they aren't Christians anyway...
7. I admit I didn't quite mean it as in ignorant on the subject - more in a not able to go really in-depth with the argument than to keep it as we stand, being on my own here. I could go further into it certainly, but other people could do it better I am quite sure... so I gave my opinions of what has been said. That is all. Now I have really confused you, and looks like I came acroess badly as well. I'm not angry at all.
8. Theres no such thing as "religious theories" - thats the point - its all "beliefs" that you have to take on without question. If you teach religion then you have to teach them all as they are all as equally as "valid" as each other - it would leave no room for anything else in the curriculum. "Some people need to grow up" Some people need to escape brainwashing and think. BTW Evolution is as much "truth" as the earth orbiting the sun or the roman occupation of Britain - "theories" supported my masses of evidence. 85155 Well I'm not giving in, but any argument I put I am sure will be rubbished by people who "know better" - people who will criticise religion for the total idea of "false hope" and criticise the people, even if their small-minded attitudes make them much worse. I don't deny evolution being true, but there is no evidecne to say God does not exist, as that as where faith comes in to it. If you don't put your mind to having faith then obviously you won't have reason to believe. You call it brainwashing but once people reach a certain age they accept they feel that is true, and that is not because they were told about Adam and Eve when they 5 years old. Also a reason for you to act in this manner is due to myself being outnumbered, so obviously if other people gave their views arguing you then you'd expand the argument a bit more, than how it is now. Obviously I am Christian but admit I do not know enough to argue but so do you by the looks of things, if you're resorting to a "It's all brainwashing. These morons should stop believeing in something that clearly doesn't exist!!!!" type of argument.
9. Personally, I don't agree that religion should be taught in state schools at all, which particualr one do you advocate? But anyway, that's besides the point, what we're discussing here is what should be taught in SCIENCE lessons. Do you believe a theory based on no evidence at all and based on religious dogma, not to mention being heavily backed (and financially supported) by evangelical christian groups should be taught in Science lessons? 85156 Science? No. Evolution should be taught in science lessons definitely, as it is a logical theory - though nobody can whine about religion being taught if evolution is taught as fact. Religion is fine to be taught in religious studies, and even that is not taught as fact. It is generally in secondary school focussing on morals, views, beliefs etc, not creationism and how we managed to get here.
10. Evolution should be taught in schools. Religion should be taught in schools. It's quite simple really - small-minded people just wiping off religion like that, then adopting evolution as "truth" and that religious theories are a load of rubbish. Doesn't seem stupid to me God creating the universe, and giving it freedom to allow evolution. Looks like some people ought to grow up...
11. Would fit in to our soap opera quite well tbh.
12. I'm pretty sure we'll remember them as great ex-players for us in a few months time.
13. No, that would be silly. Shepherd doesn't make mistakes.
14. Nothing special and vastly overhyped tbh
15. If McClaren's a real contender than Souey must be up there with a chance too...
16. Our defence is better than the likes of Sunderland but I don't see our old friend Lawro making observations about their defence - with us it's a simple "we all know they cannot defend." Our defence has been the but of many footballing jokes, and it's become pretty easy to make jokes when you see the likes of Bramble making a mistake, that our former world-class defender Distin has been making countless times for the last couple of months.
17. In some ways he's made a mistake carrying on because the fans are getting on his back. If he was given the job of manager, he'd better not fail, because he'd have completely screwed up. Like that guy Souness who played for Liverpool - don't recall any scousers saying anything nice about him.
18. Faster than Bellamy, they say.
19. On a brighter note, Chopra's looking more promising every game. Could qualify for a Championship player quite soon.
20. Rumour has it we are after Venables I believe.
21. Shows how times have changed since European Champions 2004. With that "vastly overrated" manager.
22. Aye, I agree. I don't think many of us would like Shearer if we had to work with him everyday though. I just get an impression that blokes a prick. 83013 He seems very two-face to me. Seems like a genuine but dull person when he pundits on MOTD, and in interviews (when not whining), but on the pitch and elsewhere he strikes me as a bit of prick. He got let off for kicking Neil Lennon in the head. Should that have been intentional (and it looked like it), then it's reassuring to know he's learnt from it with his elbowing, and then going on about how footall's a physical game etc.
23. Recently I've insisted on giving him support and time, but now it looks increasingly more like he just cannot be arsed to repay the club for all those wages we're giving him. Alan O'Brien was much better when he came on. Also it's pretty clear by his body language he doesn't like Shearer.
24. A big question here is are we a "big" club? Teams we were supposed to have been competing with have gone to get high-profile, and also foreign managers who have been succesful in their own country. We were supposedlt a big club. We got Souness. We could either be looking at the likes of Hiddink/Hitzfeld/Le Guen etc, or Dowie, Warnock, Jewell - I cannot see Liverpool would have taken the previous three managers, having just beaten us to 4th when they applied Benitez.
