Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER
Craig replied to Sonatine's topic in Newcastle Forum
It's Danny Murphy, man. Probably did a few lines of coke before authoring that nonsense. Rehab clearly didn't work. -
Best not PM (or DM!) him for tips on reverse parking, however.

He's not even the best midfielder on Merseyside. If I was Szoboszlai, I'd be insulted. -
Which we’re currently about 16 ahead of them on. I can’t see them reeling that in over 4 games.

She's called it a 'hostile and political act' and questioning why they didn't call out Biden's inflation hikes, all whilst holding up a printed photo of Bezos. Stupid fucking bint! It's not 3 months since she was making a big song and dance about the fact all the tech giants (inc. Bezos) were at the inauguration. This fucking administration.
-
Team Trump getting pissy with Bezos over plans to display how much tariffs are adding to product costs on the Amazon e-commerce website. Bessent and (in particular) Leavitt getting well spiky. She's an absolute piece of work.

It's alright lads we've got the lowdown on Day 1 Courtroom DRAMA right here. 'Bad Blood', eyeballing and verbals in court, no less
-
Just caught up with the rest of the proceedings - these dickheads must be defending themselves. There's no way someone in the legal profession can recommend they plead not guilty in the face of that level of evidence. I mean they've got Metadata of the grainy footage of a tree being felled by a chainsaw that was created at the precise coordinates of Sycamore Gap. Fucking melons!

According to wikipedia he died in 1992 aged 40.

Fair comment

I was reading the court transcripts on this earlier. They got a forester with 35 years of experience working for the Forestry Commission who confirmed it didn't just bear the hallmarks of recognised tree-felling techniques, but he reckoned the pair of clowns were knowledgeable enough to know that the notch they cut would ensure it would fall onto Hadrian's Wall. Absolute fucking muppets. I still don't get what the fuck they got from this.

There's a few of them in and around my area - not as many as there are Spurs fans, mind you, but enough. They're waaaaay too cocky about this. citing that they beat them 2-0 in the group stages back in October. They go a bit quiet when I point out we've put 5 goals past them this season with none in return and that, by that reasoning, they should be looking to expect an absolute ass whooping at the Emirates next month. Cunts.

it was more akin to this tbh

Any of you poker players? Pretty much did the equivalent of Leicester winning the Premier League last night. Down to 2 players, blinds of 12K and I had 525 chips left. 7 all-ins later and somehow I ended up winning! The fact I was up against my lad, and it stopped him having a hat-trick of wins might have been an added sweetener!

Better comeback than I was expecting tbf

Give him your login for here, will you? Might improve things.

You’re absolutely right but again, PGMOL will hide behind their view that the on-field ref has to have the final word. Along similar lines was the first season of VAR handled differently? I seem to recall more power was held by those at Stockley Park and left the on-field ref somewhat redundant .. and they changed it to give the ref more control. I can’t remember if that was the case or if I’ve imagined it

Mentally I've got us down for beating Chelsea & Everton, getting a draw at Brighton and Arsenal likely to finally get one over on us this season. So 7 points to come. Did i read over the weekend that someone claimed the next 4 games are the biggest we've had for a long, long time?! 6 weeks after we won our first domestic trophy in 70 years?! Dear me ....
-
Yeah Goalline Technology is precisely that. Technology. VAR is some arsehole sat in a studio watching the game with multiple different camera angles and making what they consider and informed decision based on it. There's no technology involved aside from having the luxury of a replay button. It's the Zapruder Film of football ... different people will see what they want to see depending on their pre-conceived opinion.

Brighton have gone off the boil IMO. Much prefer to be playing them now than a month or so ago. I think we'll get at least a point here but I reckon we'll sneak it - going for 2-1. Share some sentiments about the importance - any loss at this stage of the season is going feel heightened given there's only a handful of matches left. That said, this isn't the important one - that's the Chelsea match. We win that and we finish top 5 easily. There should be none of this "4 must-win games" panicky bullshit. Hardly surprising from CT mind you.
