My memory is fucked after years of abuse but I'm happy to trus in yours Alex

Come on, he's never looked good. Even when he's been ok, you know in your heart he's just shite. Glad the club are finally looking to move on from him. 171 appearances is an absolute disgrace.

There's a show on radio 4 (no idea what it's called) where they get one celebrity to interview another and then the next week the one being interviewed the previous week interviews someone else. Reese Shearsmith interviewed Bob Mortimer earlier on in the year which was very entertaining but then the next week Bob interviewed Vic which was brilliant. Well worth checking out if you can find it (which probably isn't made easy by my piss poor memory or descriptive talents!).
-
Hopefully they'll do another show next year but it's good to see he's doing well.

I like the new Joanna Newsome. Couldn't get into her last one (was just too long for me) but I'm having a much easier time with this one. The EL VY (Matt Berninger from the National & Brent Knopf from Menomena) album has leaked now. Sounds good on first listen.

Anyone watched the Jim Jeffries series Legit? Watched the whole two seasons of it on Monday getting through my hangover. Really enjoyed it even if a lot of it had come direct from his stand up. Shame it got cancelled last year.
-
Was going to see Reeves and Mortimer (do they count as a gig?) in a couple of weeks. Gutted it's been cancelled

Well without the confidence of a win, hate is all I have

You see that's what happens when you work for Remploy! You can't expect the people you work with (whoever they support) to talk any sense. I'm more interested in the tramps who reckon we all think Sundays win was a fluke. Does anyone think that? Yes 6-2 may have been flattering and they did start the second half on top but we deserved the win. We've also played well against Manure, Arsenal and Chelski and in the first half against Citeh so it was fair to say a win was coming once we played weaker opposition. I suspect the fact that those inbred fucks never wash means their ears are full of shit so they just believe we say whatever they want us to say. Either that or they're just sad cunts who want people to notice them on the internet so they just make shit up so someone gives them attention.

After the talk of stand up comedy I watched one of Jim Jeffries shows last night when I was bored to death of the wall pushers game. Never seen any of his stuff before but I thought it was excellent. Finished off with a story about taking his disabled mate to a brothel which was brilliant. No doubt I'll watch some more soon.

Yeah I know that but my point is, he would have been getting rated down because he was underperforming rather than that he's just shit. The overall opinion of a player is always going to cloud the judgement of his performance. We all know Williamson is shit so if he has a good game by his standards then he gets marked up even if by a better players standards the performance would be nothing more than average. The same goes for Sissoko. I would have scored him 1's or 2's for most of his performances this season. Not because he's a shit player but because he hasn't been playing to anywhere near the standards he should be.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Those sorts of lists are always like that. I've no doubt there are other wingers in the French league who played as much as him and delivered less. But they will players who have never been lauded or moved for big transfer fees/wages. There are plenty of our fans gulible enough to just see it as a headline and lap it up. Edit: Having said that most of the eleven come from the bottom four teams and only Thauvin and Origi are players most of us have ever heard of. But those two were two of most lauded yougsters the previous season so I still think their incclusion is more based on unfulfilled ability rather than being shite.

Pitch seems to be a bit more interesting this time around. Still no fucker watching it like!

Aye I've watched the first two episodes and it's shaping up pretty well.

Absolutely ridiculous to write him off so early. We've clearly been watching him for years so must have seen something in him. His signing has not been like that of Chucky last season where we've just seen an opportunity to get him cheap without knowing anything about him. That's not to say he will definitely be able to transfer the skills we saw from in France over to here, there's always a chance that won't happen. Of course he has to want to make it here but that's the same with every player. I'm convinced the talk of him being named in the worst eleven in France last season (or named the worst player as some seem to mistakingly believe) has led to people turning on him far sooner than would normally happen. The reality is in half the games he's played he's looked good and the other half he's looked bad. If some of our established players had done that well, we'd be in a better state than we currently are!

I think you're using the word no in a way that most of us have never thought of there!

Rob McDonald is still the worst forward I've ever seen play for us. Makes Shola look like Messi.

The trailer looks like they've done the right thing taking it out of Lucas's hands and getting shot of the CGI. Star Wars is the film that got me interested in films and I still love all the original films and really like the third of the prequels (they maybe could have made one half decent film out of the first two) so I'll be off to see this as soon as it's out. Gonna try for the IMAX. Isn't Adam Driver playing the main bad guy with Brienne one of the cheif henchmen? I watched Mr Holmes last night. It's not really the mystery you want from a film about Sherlock Holmes but still a pretty decent film. -
I agree with Stevie that they are shite. They have a couple of players that look ok but that's it. Over the last few years they've made a load of awful signings and generally looked like they had no idea what a football was most of the time. Despite this we've been unable to beat them even when things were looking ok for us and we've just come off the back of the worst start to a season in a century, in the middle of the worst 12 months of results we've ever seen. Yes Sundays result was a massive positive and I have genuinely been heartened by some of the stuff we've played this season. But there's no way I can be confident of beating anyone yet and you can't discount the confience they will have because of the last few derbys. I'll never predict a win for those inbred tramps but I can't predict one for us either.

Aye I'd forgotten about the fielding restrictions for the shorter formats. Your right we'd have been very unlikely to do it in 2 or 3 overs.
-
I didn't see a lot of the last session I have to admit but I would have thought that (while the umpires have a duty of care) it should be the batsmans decision whether they wanted to carry on a bit longer. It was more than possible that we could have got the score we needed in two or three overs (I would have had Wood in ahead of Bell for his potential quick scoring). I'm sure we would have took the same view as Pakistan in terms of time wasting but again it's not in the best interests of cricket to allow it so the umpires should have stopped them.

I can't undertand the bad light thing either. I went to the first T20 night game at Durham in May under the lights. How a test match can end due to bad light when a domestic T20 can be played under floolights is beyond me.

Think I'm going over to Berlin at easter for the England match. Not that I'm particularly arsed about the match but I've never been to Jormany before so I'm looking forward to that.

Eden Lake. Reasonably good horror/thriller. I found Fassbender surprisingly wooden early on although he wasn't helped by some poor dialogue (fancy a brewsky!). But once things started going to shit he improved dramatically. -
