  1. Of course, if I was a cynic I would say he always knew he was finished but also knew he had box office draw and saw this as a great attempt at one off bumper pay day to raise some quick capital. If I was a cynic like...
  2. Aye, no offence, I do feel sorry for the innocent fan in all this, but the club cheated over a number of years and got caught and punished. With the SFA basically restructuring the league to get you back in asap I think you're actually getting a hand you shouldn't...so I would just accept it and leave it.
  3. Thing is, you can see the Guardiola thing ended in tears a mile off. He built that Barca team from the youth level and evolved with them into the first team. If Chelsea want the success of Barca then they'd have to give him a few years, but he'll get 6 months. He would only do exactly what AVB tried to do last season which was - shock fucking horror - attempt to build something long term. Hope the fuckers implode.
  4. We went through a stage at work at playing Badminton. It was organised by some of our less fit members of staff who thought by playing it once a week they would become super fit and burn off all the shit they'd eaten all week. For me, it was a chance to smash a shuttlecock high speed into my line managers face.
  5. Because they have NOTHING else to cling to. Nowt. As soon as I saw they had won on Sunday I was waiting for one of them to wander on here and tell us they were now on the charge to Yewrupe.
  6. Home Alone was on Sunday on Channel 4, far too early like. We're not having a tree this year, but putting up decorations and lights about the place. From December 1st you can be as Christmas obsessed as you like and I don't mind, before that..I'm not having it. Lass I used to go to school with (and went out with) has had Christmas shit on her Facebook since September for fucks sake. That was a lucky escape.
  7. Well, I thought it was better up until they scored. Notice I said better, not good or excellent, just a little bit more coherent and a little less aimless than it has been. The goal then knocked the stuffing out of us.
  8. Leazes releasing statements. Awesome.
  9. Yup. He also left for nothing, no sell on. The question was about financial return, £16m, 100k a week, left for nothing. 80 games in 4 years. Massive waste of money, whether you rate/like him or not.
  10. We never liked listening to us play away on the radio (I blame you Charles Harrison) so instead we would always check Ceefax. Heart stopping moments if you went back to check it and it had changed from 3 to 4 pages, meaning a goal/sending off/missed penalty somewhere had occurred and you were shitting it in case it went against us. Have to say, I still like pressing re red button and going to latest scores on the interactive rather than waiting around for Soccer Saturday to update..
  11. Go on, I'll have a stab seeing as I quite enjoy reading The Fish's questions going the other way.. 1. What have you made of your start to the season so far? It's a bit after the Lord Mayors show which is kind of what I feared it might be. We haven't been as coherent and clinical as last year and look a bit lackadaisical. Disappointed we haven't looked at building on last season. Still early doors though. 2. What are your opinions our our start to the season so far? Quietly going about your business with a group of players relaxed and playing for each other. Always had a soft spot for the Baggies, must be the strip. 3. We've recently seen Alan Pardew given a new eight year contract, what are your reactions to this? Bit of a weird one (the length of it really) but no complaints that he deserves to be rewarded for last season. I was one of those who went 'what the fuck?' when we employed him but fair play to him. I once went to a Rob Lee talk in before Pardew was ever employed here where he stated he was the most arrogant man he'd ever met in football, so I probably have pre-perceived views on him. He seems passionate to the cause though, you only have to see his reaction to in last years derby at home when he goes after O'Neil... 4. Mike Ashley always seemed an unpopular figure around your parts, what are your opinions on him? I've moved from hating him to seeing him as an evil genius. The club will do someone sensible (moving Milburn statue back to the ground) followed by something stupid. I think the ground naming has to be the stupidest of them all. I have no problem with the club keeping tight though for survival, I was no fan of the Shepherd's and the crazy spending which may have dropped us in the financial shit. I still don't trust him as far as I could throw him, and he's a big fella. 5. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside its supporters? If I lived in the midlands then WBA would def be the club I would go and watch where possible. Seem to have more character than evil Birmingham (boring club despite Clarky) and Aston Villa who I despise for many reasons. If I'm being honest I would still see you as a yo-yo club at present, although you're doing your best to dispel that myth! 6. Which players in your side should we look out for, and which players in our side do you fear? Of your players I really like Morrison. Of our lot if Ben Arfa is on song then he's unplayable. Really impressed with Santon now as well, become a massive asset to us, looks a player. 7. What are you expecting for the remainder of the season? Hopefully that we gel as a side as last season instead of the fits and starts we've seen so far. If we can battle through these Europa League qualifiers perhaps we'll then step up a gear in them and maybe a cheeky push towards Amsterdam? 8. What are you expecting from WBA for the remainder of the season? Do we have a chance of Europe? I don't see why not. I think the top 3 are probably already decided (both Manchester clubs and Chelsea) and other than that it's fairly open. We proved last year that a team that gels well together, get's a bit of luck, with players constantly good without being superstars or world beaters that you can push on. 9. What side is Alan Pardew most likely to put out? Our strongest minus Tiote, who will be a big miss. He's our engine and grafter. Be interesting to see who he puts in there instead. Perchino has been stepping in and doing well in there but he bought Anita from Ajax to play ion the centre of midfield but doesn't look convinced by him there and has been switching him to full back. Hopefully Colo will be back, as the man is a rock. 10. And finally, score predictions? 3-2 to us or a score draw.
  12. I'm not looking at his reputation. I'm not looking at what tackles happened earlier in the game (or even in past derbies which I really don't see the relevance) I'm taking it as stand alone challenge and I thought it was dangerous. Not malicious, not premeditated, but clumsy as fuck and quite easily a way to seriously injure someone. That, in my opinion, should be punished with a red. Just my opinion!
  13. No one is saying he tried to do Fletcher. But the challenge, in it's nature, could have caused serious injury.
  14. Thing is, Fletcher didn't catch Tiote. He got to the ball first. If it had been other way round I'd be screaming for a red. I'm not saying it was nasty or intentional, but it was clumsy and dangerous and I'm sorry but a potential leg breaker.
  15. I'm sure there is some connection to one of the Drs linked with doping in the cycling world and Barcelona. I may have dreamt it.
  16. Sorry, I've changed to a wanky work laptop with a longer keyboard and my letters are out!
  17. It was certainly clumsy rather than nasty, but it was high and could have broken Fletchers leg. Now I hate the mackems as much as you lot do, but he could have easily have broken Fletcher's leg and whether there was intent there or not (don't think there was) it was poor and I perosnally think a red was the right decision. I love Toite, but because of the type of plyer he is he sometimes leaps before he looks and this is onme of those occasiona. While Cattermole is a premediated nasty bastard, Tiote is just clumsy as fuck at times..a la yesterday.
  18. Johnson and Ireland's answer to Pele young McClean were both absolute dog turd. Do you think the mackems over hype players because they've never really had a truly world class player? The minute they get someone who doesn't just lump it they go bat shit mental about them.
  19. As mich as this is a serious subject, I am rather amused by the story of him being pulled by the boss of Radio 1 as they had their suspicions. Oh aye, that woulspd sort it like. 'So, Jimmy, word is you're a kiddie fiddler.' 'Now then, young man, that is not true.' 'Good enough for me Jimmy, see you on the Breakfast show tomorrow.'
  20. I was really surprised by how bad they were. If we'd kept 11 on the pitch it looked like it could have been a stroll. For what it's worth, I've no complaints over the red.
  21. Same old shite from those lot again...Mags are shitting it etc. If anyone wants to know the difference between them and us only has to look around any social media tonight. Whilst we're treatig it like a local derby, a smal town a little over 9 miles away is treating it as a cup final.
  22. All Rob W's chickens have come home to roost and he's not here.
