They've fucked off Watkins then
-
So Mitchell came into the club and said our transfer policy wasn't fit for purpose. The same policy that brought us Tino, Hall, Botman, Bruno, Tonali, Isak, Gordon and Barnes. Our targets this Summer have been Cunha, Mbuemo, Delap, Ekitike, Trafford, Sesko and Elanga. Only one of which has actually agreed to sign for us. We either didn't do our due diligence and this players never wanted to play for us in the first place. Or they were willing to come but we offered far less in wages than other clubs. What I can't figure out is whether that list was Howe's or Mitchell's? And whether Mitchell was completely right in what he said, or the biggest mistake this club had made since Ashley left.

So apparently we've given permission for Isak to discuss terms with Liverpool, we believe Sesko is going to Man Utd and have made a tentative enquiry for Muniz. And that's from proper journos. If we end up with Wissa or Muniz as Isak's replacement rather than Wilson's then it's a fucking tragedy.

Might be time to buy our own women's team and start chucking the cash about. The window always gets busier the last couple of weeks, but it's far from ideal bedding in 5 players at short notice. I wish we would fuck off these friendlies on the other side of the planet in hideous heat. The players look fucked

Willock looks like he's got a bad injury. Which leaves Miley as our only CM replacement now

This Korean kid is mint

Turns out Lascelles still plays like Lascelles unfortunately

The daft thing is, ignoring the clubs "history", if you look at the trajectory of MUFC and NUFC over the last 4 seasons it should be an easy choice. Man Utd may have won a couple of trophies but their football is hideous and they have a load of overpaid and underperforming players on their books with a manager who is chance to be sacked by January. Sesko could be prolific for us with Elanga, Barnes, Murphy and Gordon supplying balls from the wings. Not to mention Hall, Tino, Bruno and Tonali on the overlap and from midfield too.

Lost 2-1 to Hull last night. After losing 3-0 to Hearts last week. I know we've hardly had a Summer to remember, but it looks like they've spent £120m on shite so far. If they go straight back down they are gonna be struggling financially
-
Cunha and Mbuemo suggest there is some truth in that sadly. Another couple of seasons in the wilderness and their crown will slip though...
-
I suspect Sesko would prefer Man Utd over us. But it sounds like Man Utd are struggling to afford the fee unless they move on Garnacho. Hence them looking at a part ex for Jackson at Chelsea or Watkins at Villa. We need to give Sesko a deadline and then move on or he's gonna end up leaving us in the lurch at the end of the window.

It's a real rental ad, but fuck knows if that's Isak's gaff.
-
The difference being Hayden hasn't dropped in form, he was just never very good. He should never have been given a long contract extension. Jamal Lewis and Jeff Hendrick were of a similar ilk. As bad as this Summer has been, it's not a patch on the Ashley years.

Ben Chilwell is a good example of a career ruined by Chelsea. Phillips at City too. Grealish, Sancho, Sterling and Rashford have all taken massive nose dives and no one will buy them outright because their wages are all touching £300k pw. Every one of those players has dropped out of the England squad. I wouldn't be surprised if La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Eredevisie start campaigning against PL clubs rinsing all of the young talent in their leagues soon. It's only a matter of time before their international teams feel the fallout too.

Wouldn't make sense to lose fitness just as you're about to sign the biggest contract of your career
-
I also can't remember another transfer window where Liverpool, Arsenal, City, Man Utd and Chelsea spent as much as they have. £933m so far between them, and Xavi Simons, Isak, Sesko, Garnacho, Trafford, Jorrel Hato might add another £400m to that yet.

Given Isak is still training every day, I find it odd that he would pack up his belongings and live out of a hotel room on the off chance we accept a bid for him
-
It's all speculation, because other journos's were suggesting that the final choice sat with the player. And I reckon if we'd chucked that bid in on the first day of the window, City would have opted out (given they were in the middle of sorting out 4 other deals and playing in the CWC at the time)
-
This will be Spurs going all in on Wissa then
-
We've already got 3 backup keepers. We need a new number one. As Pope has shown in the last 2 friendlies
-
No better than Pope or Dubravka. What's the fucking point?
-
I'd be telling Liverpool to get in Romano's ear to sabotage the Man Utd bid if they want any chance of getting Isak
-
Oh well, that was nice while it lasted. We've likely lost Cunha, Mbuemo and Sesko to Man Utd, Delap and Pedro to Chelsea, and Isak and Ekitike to Liverpool. Best season in my lifetime and 4 weeks later I feel like giving up being a football fan tbh
