  1. The risk is you go into the season without a squad that can compete on 4 fronts, and then in 6 or 12 months Isak, Tonali, Bruno, Tino et al start looking elsewhere. Then we are back to square one.
  2. Wouldn't surprise me if Burnley told us the exact price at the start of the Summer and we've wasted a month trying to barter them down. Then lost out to a club that just paid the asking price.
  3. If Man Utd were getting £10m a season 14 years ago, I'm not sure how it could be argued that us getting that in 2025 would be an inflated value for a party related sponsorship
  4. If we bid £70m for Ekitike, and have now turned our sights to £30m Wissa, then we can afford the extra £10m that Burnley are asking for Trafford. And if we can't, then get Saudia to sponsor the training kit for £10m a season (which is what Man Utd were getting in 2011 https://www.theguardian.com/football/2011/aug/22/manchester-united-kit-deal-dhl ) If we are hamstrung by PSR, then there are plenty of unfulfilled revenue streams to ease that issue. We are literally watching Chelsea and City steal the players we want whilst doing fuck all about bridging the gap.
  5. Is it taking the piss? He's the best young keeper in England. Pickford went for £30mil 8 years ago. Ramsdale went for the same price. Man Utd paid £50m for Onana. Kepa was £70m to Chelsea.
  6. Our pursuit of Mamardashvili, Garcia and Trafford suggests Howe would like a long term replacement for Pope. Preferably someone that doesn't shit his pants with the ball at his feet.
  7. Those 4 had 82 appearances between them last season. We've currently got no 2nd choice striker, Willock as first reserve in CM (if he's not injured), and Lascelles as 2nd choice RCB. I bet the CL clubs are quaking. We are well stocked at LW, RW, RB and GK. It's a lop sided squad, and you could argue that it's worse off now than when we finished the season. We will have to judge it once the window is shut, but our glacial progress in negotiations won't be impressing Howe or convincing Isak to sign a new deal (if we ever fucking offer him one). Whose idea was it to wait until other clubs could buy him before we considered tying him to a longer contract anyway?
  8. SSN reporting the buy back clause is £40m. I assume it's the same price for everyone, but City get first refusal. What's fucking mental is we've waited 3 transfer windows to try and get him for cheaper and now another club is just going to slap down the asking price and take him from underneath us. Which seems to be our M.O. for everyone currently
  9. https://x.com/SkySportsNews/status/1946297510160408651 Gathering momentum now. If Trafford ends up at City then Howe is going to be so pissed off. He could have been our keeper for the next decade
  10. He's wanted to join us for 3 transfer windows and we are still fucking him about. Wouldn't blame him if he told us to fuck off
  11. I suspect the Mbuemo deal means Brentford will insist on top money for Wissa now. Other clubs must fucking love us at the minute. Every time we show an interest in a player, the teams that have been dragging their heels on signings suddenly pull their finger out
  12. They've been tried to peddle him for ages and no one is biting.
  13. I assume Howe is pissing his pants too, because I'm pretty much repeating what he said yesterday. History tells us it takes weeks to get new recruits trained up in his systems which is why he wanted players in early. It's far from ideal to have to do that once the season has already started, and defeats the purpose of pre season friendlies if he's looking at potentially trying new formations with 2 up front etc.
  14. So straight from the horses mouth. Mitchell leaving just as the transfer window opened has thrown a spanner in the works. And as we are terminally fucking slow at deciding anything as a club, we still haven't agreed his replacement. We've lost Kelly, Almiron and Longstaff from the squad and signed one player so far. We need at least 3 more first team ready players if we want any chance of competing on 4 fronts this season.
  15. And a CM now that Longstaff is leaving. I'd happily take Harvey Elliot
  16. I'm a little underwhelmed by the Wissa links. He's had a good season, but he's almost 29 and will be off to the AFCON. Although if the papers are to be believed we were after Cunha, Mbuemo, Delap, Pedro and Ekitike before we got to Wissa on the list.
  17. I hope this cunt gets commission off the big clubs
  18. Let's be honest, Liverpool have just won the league and Ekitike would be first choice striker there. If it's a straight shoot out between them and us, we are probably going to lose. However, Liverpool have had their hand forced into signing him, and probably for more than they wanted to spend on him. Which is hilarious, because he's not even their first choice £200m on 2 forwards who have never played in the PL. If they get another Nunez then they are knackered. Salah and VVDs best years are behind him, Diaz wants out too. I think they might struggle this season.
  19. Who else fits the bill if we lose out to Ekitike then? Sesko? Simmons? Sancet? Woltemade? Aghegowa?
  20. I'm not sure old Monkey Heed can pull these trousers off
  21. Madueke to Arsenal Kudus to Spurs Mbuemo to Man Utd Semenyo staying at Bournemouth Lets hope the Elanga deal doesn't collapse because just about every alternative we've been linked with is off elsewhere!
  22. Most of the bands in the first half of the show tbf
  23. Guns N Roses got the best Sabbath covers so far. Never Say Die & Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Metallica next
