What mood are you in and why?

Gave people the clap at the Royal Parks Half-Marathon today. Quite tempted to run it myself next year. It's a lot flatter than the Great North Run course, for a start...

I'm surprised they had the energy.

I'm about to drink 1 (one) can of Stella though, and I'm genuinely terrified that it's gonna give me a hangover.

I'm about to drink some peach Timmermans. :bitchslap:

If it's a pint can it might.

I've turned it into a shandy to try and soften the blow.

Am drinking a bottle of red after a complete non-event of a weekend. The highlight being 45 mins at the Stephenson's Railway museum with the bairns on saturday. And that really is that. I was supposed to be out today but it got called off, felt for the missus as she was all raring to go out for a meal with her mates and a couple of their partners when, as she's about to get into the taxi it comes out in the wash that it's all partners going and we've recently split up so she didn't go. I thought that was a cunts trick by her pal. So it's been naff all round.

Am feeling completely shite. The realisation that I'm going to work on Wednesday and never coming home to my kids again has well and truly smacked me between the chops.

Yes it's the right thing to do and of course what I want but it doesn't make it any easier. The oldest is aware of what's going on but the young 'un thinks I'm going away for a few days and I'll be back.

Maybe you should talk with HMHM. I think he's in a similar situation at the moment.

You know that it's the right thing to do and that it should have actually happened a while ago. Things will feel better in time and it'll become normal for the bairns.

When I was kid my parents divorced. My mother got custody and every two weekends myself, my brother and my sister would stay with my father. It's what I looked forward to the most and as I got older, perhaps 15, 16, it felt strange not to speak to my Dad on the telephone on any given day.

When I was young I suppose I looked forward to the weekends but I would see him all the time as I grew up, literally every other day.

It'll be tough for you Craig but I think you can pull through it & be that Dad who's there - even if you can't be now all the time kids will grow up and understand.

Swatted a fly earlier and properly put my neck out. I know, fucking absurd, retarded etc. Anyway, fucking agony. On a mixed bunch of hardcore painkillers, a bottle of wine and it still fucking knacks. Moving around like Sandi Toksvig in a brace.

This all stems back to some ubermong from Penshaw stacking my car 10 years ago and redesigning my neck in the process. If i met him now I'd honestly throttle the cunt.

Aye Cath I know it's right and in my heart of hearts I know it's going to be better for all. Doesn't make it any easier though.

And I equally feel your pain HMHM. Think of the bairns are we know we're doing good :)

Cheers to HMHM, Tom & Chez too.

You can fucking sort the Smileys then can't you.

Had a decent weekend. Finished work about 19:00 on Friday and as I get home there's a pretty blonde lass standing at my door. A quick conversation reveals she'd come down from Headingley to London to spend the weekend with my housemate. However, he'd lost his iPhone so throughout the day she'd been calling that number and getting no reply. I give his other number a quick ring and his boyfriend answers. His boyfriend who lives in Nottingham. Turns out Gay housemate had completely forgotten this lass was staying with us and had fucked off on the train to see his fella as he'd had a shitty week.

So I end up taking her out for a meal to cheer her up, get a cheeky snog and she's coming back down in a month :good:

Then Saturday me and a couple of mates drive up to Hull for a uni mates house-warming. Really good to see a lot of old mates, surprisingly decent pub (2 pints of bitter and 2 halves of Frulli cost £10!), some nice tapas, back to her house and a really good party.

Only downside was getting back to the room I'd baggsied to find the lad and lass I drove up with, up to their tonsils in each other. So I crashed in a bed with someone else, and then had the fucking awful 5 and a half hour drive back to London with a shitty hangover and those two initially being awkward with each other, then having "banter".

But all in all, a good weekend. Not in work until Thursday. either :gettin:

Mind, I have just realised that my train up to Newcastle next Monday leaves at 08:30 and I finish work at 07:00 ... :suicide::lol:
