Confirmed Skysports. I don't get why we'd sign him now on a permamnent deal when we haven't seen if his injury will affect his play or not though, we had him on loan til the end of the season so he wasn't going anywhere.

because we are worried his performances before the end of the season will merit better offers and there aren't enough games left to tie up the 25 game stipulation in his contract.

Llambias: "Hatem is exactly the type of player we want here; a young international class player with his best years ahead of him."

Well said for once and great deal at a great price for a great player.

what's the price, is it ~5m originally touted?

very excited about this signing, even if there is some risk involved. looks like he has the right attitude as long as he is on the right side of the manager. I'll let parky elaborate

True, though if it turns out his broken leg has fucked him up it won't be such great business. Anywho, how much did we pay for him in the end?

you're right that it's a risk AP, but I'm very glad to see ashley take it, both in terms of thinking it's a good bet, and that he is willing to invest in it

Apparently so.

For an extra £22 million we could've signed James Milner this summer

you think? i definitely know what you mean. i just hope he isn't rushed back and is allowed to heal up properly so that he comes back sharp and ready to go.

Ashley is still a cunt (soz Cath) but deserves a huge amount of credit for his bartering this summer. £5 million really is astonishing value.

Fair post. I think if this window goes well we'll all have to give Mashley some breathing space.

Ashley would have to deliver Messi and Ronaldo on 10 year contracts and the treble next season for him to reach equilibrium in my opinion of him.
