What's the Metro issue?

Even though they've got it they still moan about how Tyneside is much better served by it. That'll be down to that secret cabal of Newcastle businessmen

Of course it's better served. There's things you actually want to get to on Tyneside. What the fuck is worthwhile in Wearside? That Glass Museum thing?

I love their bitterness about the Metro like. I know some of them are taking the piss on RTG but most of them are fucking seething about it.

 Aye it's fucking hilarious, they moan about stuff like that but still declare their shithole town as being better than Newcastle. Agree with the Fish that they have some brass neck calling our stadium a landfill, ours is historic and is right in the City centre, meanwhile there one is a shitty bland stadium made in the 90's which may as well be the Madjeski or any of the other flat pack type shite.

Going back to the wanting to tie themselves to other teams they use the fact their ground is named the Stadium of Light to do that as well. Bunch of fucking losers, forever in our shadow and all that.

Think it was Billy Furious who pointed out they've loads of fans from places like Consett and all those Durham mining villages with no affinity to Sunderland beyond the football club whereas there's genuine pride in Newcastle the city because it's in a completely different league. Sunderland's only a city nominally as well.

They claim Kate Adie is a massive lads fan.As she was born within site of St Mary's lighthouse, she was either born in Northumberland,Tyneside,on a Ferry from North Shields or in a Zeppelin.

She was adopted by a couple from Sunderland when she was very young though.

I don't know from where they muster the nerve to call St James' "the landfill", when their ground is roundly mocked for it's litter strewn pitch.

Don't bother searching for pictures of "Rubbish on the pitch at Sunderland" it's just photos of our lot.

Said from a ground built on a reclaimed colliery site.

Nowt wrong with being proud of the heritage of course but from a purely toxic shithole pov they win easily.

What the fuck is a lads fan? Is this a term they actually use?

A fan of the lads. It's a term they like to apply to celebrities, business leaders and other groups of fans to convince themselves that their club actually has a purpose on this planet.

"The founder of PSV Eindhoven, massive lads fan, moved out there in the early twentieth century, probably about then. Helped them build railways or something like that, Started a football team with ex-pat lads fans, all the ex-pat mags were still into cricket so didn't bother, made the strip like Sunderland AFC on request of the locals who wanted to be twinned with us as they knew we'd won the league two more times than the mags. Still get the odd few coming over when it's not Feyenoords or Sparta Rotterdam's turn at the SoL. FTM."
