Bid in apparently. Just head the rumour. Anyone else got more info?

Mercato365 is the source most people are quoting, their article says that they've hard from a UK source. They also mention Man City are monitoring his progress. I am less than confident that this is legit; I'm fairly sure it'll be just papers and agents seeing our activity and hitching a ride.

This is getting ridiculous. I keep thinking I'm going to wake up in a normal window. We're close to signing half a new team. Best window of Ashley's reign, fair play to him. He needed to act and he has.

It's an 11m net spend. Very much welcome but not a massive investment.

If he gets a striker capable of replacing Ba in addition to the five already signed it s likely to be Ashley's best window, regardless of whether its been his biggest bet outlay. I suspect it could be both.

It also goes to show you don't need to spend a fortune to add a bit of quality. Two of the signings could go either way but three are current French internationals and unlikely to be mugs.

All the signings are encouraging but I've seen nothing of any of them (along with most others) so I'll reserve final judgement for now.

Including wages for 4 new contracts its got to be a 20mill+ window......fuckin hell....was Ashley on drugs and forgot to do all this in the summer?....

I think he's just too fucking tight or stupid. Although I'm glad we've signed players, this window has shown our management up to be extremely short sighted and reactionary. Bear in mind these players have all got to learn how to play together and it may take some time for Pardew to work out exactly how best to play them, so it may actually be some time (? too late) to see any real benefits.

Aye, both. Good point about the team having about 10 minutes to learn how to play together. So fuckin short sighted all this. I'd honestly love it if we pulled clear of the bottom in the league and did well in Europe now this season but when the world and his wife knew this was all required in the summer and 4 months later it appears we do have the money for good solid investment then it just shows yet again the way Ashley will go out of his way to try to save a few quid. He completley failed to build on last seasons good work. If he cares about NUFC as a "project" then he has a funny way of showing it, even if he has, eventually.
