Do you bare the scars of him scoring every single time he played against us, including an FA cup semi and for fuckin Spurs?

Or is it to do with what happened at Brighton?...they did ditch him in a very strange manner...it seems he was suspeneded completly out of the blue, then sacked whilst live on the bbc...strange..why did they suspend him in the first place?..

Said he fancied coaching another team live on radio...HIs Brighton side looked quite tasty for what it was...

I'm caught somewhere between gloom and apathy. Certainly not a lot to be excited about. Last season's horror show should have resulted in strengthening the squad, as all our rivals have. Instead we start with the same group that narrowly avoided relegation. Pathetic

Yeah but we were given fair notice of that...we were told we'd brought two signings forward from the summer. Am not surprised in the slightest at that, this is Mike Ashley all over, and neither am I that disheartened. The surprise this summer has been Kinnear's appointment. Am off to the Etihad on Monday :D

Half the team were missing on and off last year. Cabaye was poor, Tiote went mad and Hatem picked up hamstring issues. We were really short on firepower and creativity (party due to tactics)...Remy make no mistake is a very dangerous customer..If he can slot in just behind Cisse and to the left (drop Guti), and Hatem gets into it cutting in from the right there will be more goals.

What's to say the same wont happen again this year? We've been lucky that Cisse has been injury free. We are one bad tackle on Cisse away from Shola playing 38 games this season

All of the above, plus his constant defence of Suarez's cuntery. Also, he wasn't sacked live on air, he was told of the decision that morning, the statement was published during the game. He feigned shock at the announcement but he had known about it for hours.

Have you ever met a nice Uruguayan?

Can't say I've met any tbh

You've gone all Stevie on us this morning, is there a horse and cart trotting up and down the road outside your house or something? :o

Think you'l find that nasty managers are often the better ones. Look at Mourinho gouging the Barca coaches eye from behind..

If you're worried about welcoming Poyet...Imagine welcoming Poyet and Wise back.

Think Pards will get a run at it but he's severely weakend now Llamb has left and he has also fucked up by falling out with Carr apparently on transfers. Ashley loves Carr.

Whilst our squad is reasonably strong in comparison to the past there can be absolutely no doubt that the standard of players in the lower tier of teams in the premier league has come along in leaps and bounds over the past three or four seasons. The easier matches against the weak smaller teams are no more and it really is true that you need to move forward just to stand still.

With all this in mind it's particularly worrying as there is not a lot of room for allowing others to move past us before we're relegated. On the face of it it feels like our team has far too much quality to be relegated, but with last season fresh in our minds we know that this is no longer necessarily true. If we have an unsettled start and don't pick up points in the early part of the season in some easier matches then the wheels could quickly come off and the ghosts of 2008/09 could return.

I think our entire summer spending has been dependent on selling anyway

Pardew has clearly been told to get shot of Cabaye - but as he was shite a lot of last season nobody is interested.

"we were close to signing Bent"

Does he really think this is the sort of talk the fans want to hear so close to the end of the window?! Sure, if this was Mid July then fair enough, it may show we're in the hunt for players, but to say this now so close to the season starting, seriously?!

"man, we signed no players this summer"

"yeah but we were close to a few"

"ah, ok."

TBF it sounds like we've put the effort into a couple of strikers now to no avail, with two now entering negotiations before collapsing, which makes it even more worrying that we may have been concentrating Jo's valuable time and resources into these with no-one in the column B 'what if they go tits up" list.

I'm still firmly under the belief that Kinnear is here to get rid of Pardew and this summers utterly pathetic and negligible window is testament to that. Bear in mind Kinnear has the power to sack Pardew - why would he back him?

He wants to be back in management and he has Ashley's ear. Meanwhile the fans suffer.
