 Not at all. Just confirms my general belief. Socialism is great til you run out of other people’s money.

Fair point until people realised how much money those other people have and that it would never run out.

Well it does because tax too high and they take their wealth (and taxes) abroad.

The overall point is however most people can agree with a lot of left policies / intentions but disagree with a left government’s ability to deliver such things continually and without running into trouble. It also doesn’t help that parties always have one eye on the next election so continually put off the harder choices.

Basically nothing will change until we have far more women and less egomaniacs as politicians.

The esteemed Ms Cawalladr on why that fuckpig Farage won't answer her questions....

Who is the real Nigel Farage... and why won't he answer my questions?

Brilliant that, shame there aren't more like her around at the moment.

The last line sums the whole thing up very well.

"Nigel Farage declined to answer any questions put to him about subjects raised in this article."

the video of the little syrian boy being nutted, choked to the floor then waterboarded by the bullies in Huddersfield which is going around twitter is as unsurprising as it is shocking.

Well, insofar as he poured a bottle of water in the kids face while forcing him down by the neck and saying “I’m going to drown you”.

The Syrian kid apparently already had his arm broken in a prior hate attack at school. apparently the bully, who has already been identified on Facebook, and by police, comes from a racist family. This shit has always gone on but it’s still shocking to see. The political discourse since the referendum campaign is only likely to further embolden these fuckwits in the future, just as Trump has done in the US with the resurgence of the kkk, attacks on synagogues etc.

What a time to be alive.

When limbs are being broken, I'd tend to upgrade "bully" to "criminal".

Although I suppose this also brings us back to that Bulger conversation the other day. At what age do you stop making allowances for kids/teenagers/young adults who've been brought up in such shit circumstances that they - maybe - never really stood much of a chance?

I think if prison sentences are genuinely considered to be rehabilitative, it doesn't matter. They come out better people than they go in, or at least they should in a working system.

Unless you're talking about social judgement outside of the legal system in which case I'd argue that people who lash out at the bully are really just looking for an excuse to vent their own insecurities and hate.

Speaking to a friend last night who was at uni the same year as Rees Mogg. She said even 30 years ago people hated him then.

I’d call him a jug-eared cunt, but that would be disrespectful …

… to cunts.
