Someone pointed out in the comments that the club is actually 140 years old. There's a misconception that Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End merged in 1892, but actually West End went bust and East End just changed their name to try and lure fans of the other club. I had NUFC stuff as a kid with 1882 on it and the only time 1892 became a thing was around 1992 when the club, on the bones of it's arse, decided to make a thing of it's 'centenary' and had a pre-season tournament. East End took a couple of West Ends players on as well securing the tenancy of the now vacant SJP but that was it. As far as I'm concerned Stanley/East End is NUFC so we're not 129 years old as that's just the name change anniversary.
