Submerging wasn't an issue. It's the floating again which appears to be the issue.

The issue does appear to be the "coming back" part of the operation.

Submersible is being somewhat generous

So $250,000 to go down and see the titanic on a computer screen because there are no windows. Honestly I would just take the sub down 10 metres and play a pre recorded show. They'd never know and chances of dying would be limited.

And now too little oxygen.

96 hours evidently, but even if by some miracle it came back to the surface it could be miles away and they'll never spot it and exit/entry point is bolted FROM THE OUTSIDE, so they couldn't even open the door on their hermetically sealed coffin.

In almost 10 years they've not been able to find MH370. This thing is around about the size of an aircraft engine so the chances of it ever being found at all must be slim.

Aren't all submersibles designed with a built-in dead weight release system so that natural buoyancy can return it the surface in the event of an emergency? Does make you wonder if the integrity of the craft has been breached at which point it'll already be too late.

Nature's way of telling us to leave the wreck of the Titanic the fuck alone IYAM. It's effectively a grave site, not a tourist attraction.

Proper ones probably are, this one didn't even have an emergency beacon.

Seems like an efficient billionaire disposal system if you ask me. More of this please.

Hopefully Elon snuck on after the Harrogate pulled out and no one has noticed yet.

Apparently a bloke from Harrogate paid his deposit to be on this trip and pulled out of it.

That parsimonious Yorkshire spirit strikes again
