GrahamTaylor5 1783
I have no concerns about Isak staying. I have to be honest and say that I think getting £150m would probably be better for us in the medium to long term. Howe brought Fraser back in to the best of his ability, I doubt he would treat Isak any worse. The response from Gordon and Trips indicates that it is probably easier than you think to make the mistakes Isak has. I also think NUFC gave green light for Spain. If they hadn't, surely the NUFC lawyers could have argued away the % sell on fee due to their involvement in unsettling our player.

That £150m is probably closer to half that once we write off what we owe on him and add the 10% we owe Sociedad for the sell on clause. And whilst £100+mil for Bale, Grealish, Coutinho etc helped those clubs buy half a new team, in the 2025 market it buys you 2 Elanga's. aimaad22 6000
At least it seems PIF have decided to get a handle on things at long freaking last. I'm not that bothered about Isak anymore. It's a shame and I still hope it works out but we're already trying to get other top strikers in. Time to focus on the other positions too now and get them in before September. This could be another bloody great season. I've maintained Isak is our most important player but we always knew at some point we'd have to deal with big players leaving. The club has to implement a process for getting replacements in and continuing to build the squad. Howe is the most important part of the puzzle for us. As long as the owners back him we'll be fine. And no mucking about when the time comes for his contract renewal.
Craig 12380
Isak has done irreparable damage to his legacy - not by wanting a move away from the club, but by the manner in which he’s gone about it. He’s been treated as a messiah by those on the terraces these last 3 years. They deserved better - a LOT better.

We treated ASM like pur messiah for years and he got us out of some very messy situations. There was only that Australian lass who really lost any sleep over it. People turn on their hereos all of the time (not what happened with ASM). Isak has delivered some of the best moments that some of the NUFC fans have had in their lifetime and he has had their love in return.
MrBass 4204
I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't share the same love for Isak as most of you. On his day, he's fantastic but how often does that happen? To me, our most important player is Tonali and I'd be more upset if/when we lose him. That said, I'd obviously like us to keep Isak but, if we were to sell him, I'd only be bothered if it was to those red bin dipping cunts. I hated them before this saga but having their absolute toss pot of a fan base show up on every fucking Newcastle social media post giving it the biggun' has increased my hatred even more than I thought possible. If he stays and performs, then great. If he goes abroad and we can a huge chunk of change for him then I wish him the best. If he goes to those cunts in red then I hope he does his achilles on his debut for them.

I am not convinced that Isak would be successful in systems not set up for him in the way we are. Unfortunately, I think Liverpool would be a really good destination for him. I still feel that the wheels could completely come off for Liverpool. Liverpool shone last year when everyone else did really poorly. We had an awful start to the season yet it ended up really well. I think that is a reflection of how bad everyone else seemed to do. I don't think Liverpool ran away with it, people just didn't perform. I know this could be argued with them running away with it. They were not special. Noone on here could honestly say that Liverpool were our toughest games last year.
sammynb 4171
The whole tapping Isak up, to me, shows that Liverpool are genuine concerned about NUFC as a competitor. Gordon last off-season, Isak this off-season, they are quite happy to disrupt our playing staff because they know that the damage they have done, will have the player underperforming for a period at the start of the season. And if you look at last season, for example, Liverpool won the league with their performances in the first three months, not the last three. I really hope that NUFC takes them to task for their illegal approach of Isak.

I think he has been done over and had some.bad advice. We were not happy with Gordon at the start of the season and he was a Liverpool fan growing up.
