How do you spend £1,000,000,000 on transfers in 2 season and end up with Chelsea's starting XI?

Half of them are on 8 year deals too

It’s not just that either. By that I mean they’d had massive investment for well over a decade before that too. It’s not like they were starting from where we were two years ago.

They're still struggling to get away from the  Abramovich era transfer policy of "fuck the finances, sign him and kill his career before he strengthens one of our rivals".

I assume none of his companies will be allowed to sponsor them, without howls of protest from everyone?

They will only allowed to offer deals reparations fair market value, in the case of “United” it does mean any sum less than a trillion is fine.

Hopefully INEOS reckon they need to chuck another billion quid at home to sort out the problems.

Can they? Surely their FFP is tight

I’m glad Man City won. They are my only hope to win amongst the cretins up there.

I’d much rather they won than the Hembarrasing Arses, Bin dippers and Beige cunts.  I think spurs will be back in the hunt towards the end of the season  if they can stay in touch until Maddison and Van de Ven returns.

Villa and Spurs will surely fall away. It’s a three horse race I reckon

Dunno about Villa. They've an apparently suicidal high line, but Martinez is arguably the best goalkeeper in the world so it's not so much of a weakness. Watkins is prolific and the way Emery has them drilled they're really dangerous, regardless of the opponent. They've the ability to hit you on the break, or play through a solid defence. They're definitely up there on merit.

Spurs may well fall away though.

they’ve been lucky with injuries though. Basically putting their reserves out in Europe. A bit like us last year in that they’ve been able to field the same team most weeks. They could get top 4 but I doubt even their most optimistic fan genuinely thinks they’re title contenders

In so much as they're 3pts off the top spot with half the season gone, I think they have to be consider contenders, but I don't think they'll end up top two.

Top 4 is surely a lock for them now, right?
