I sometimes worry we've become one of those teams that turns up for the big six/eleven, depending on where Man U are in the table, and think we are above the games against the dross.

Holden McGroin 9890
Much improved first half and although the second was dreadful I could at least see the plan. I can see Howe going with Joe and Joe on the left again v Arsenal. Barnes must be hacked off with his game time this season. I think Howe doesn’t like his pressing (or lack of) so he’ll be a sub most of the time. At least it gives us a bit of hope going into Saturday. Hopefully the crowd are rocking for the Spanish Tit turning up.

Errr Craig, that noise is coming from you he makes a couple of good points. Tonali as the central pivot had one of his best games for us. Could be the way to move Bruno further up the pitch. Lloyd Kelly at LCB for Burn would help with the lack of pace in that department too. Edited October 31, 2024 by Dr Gloom

The big Joe/little Joe axis on our left with Tonali CDM and a Bruno a little further forward with Isak up front and Gordon on the right could be the way to set up against Arsenal. Barnes is a great finisher but looks more effective off the bench against tired legs. He doesn’t put the work in off the ball that a lot of our forwards get through and games often seem to pass him by when he starts

Having a strong 11 isn't enough in this league, you need someone who can come on and change things and Barnes has shown he can do that numerous times. We still need to convert one of our predominantly left sided midfield/forward players into a right sided one. Maybe it's worth a shot trying to do it with Willock? He's been off the boil and or injured for a long time but he has the energy and pressing to be super effective for 60-70 minutes not just in attack but also contributing defensively.
RobinRobin 14498
Sounds like big and little Joe on the left works best so Gordon on the right with licence to swap.

If we had a good, FIT striker we could mix it up and play Isak coming off the right sometimes with the good, FIT striker in the middle.
