Some of those will be off with stress. Some will be lazy bastards who take 2 months off without a thought for the increased workload the rest of their colleagues will have to pick up on their behalf

Such compassion from the mental health nurse.

I'm in Ayia Napa at the moment (yeah fuck you too) and its a lot deader than I imagined (though as pleasantly warm) and its making me think of those sci-fi stories like The Stand where the vast majority of humans die leaving everything for the survivors.

I can't believe how much I'm relishing the silence here and stories like that one above make me think - not for the first time tbh - how much a super-cull of humanity would be a good thing.

He's bang on like. We have staff (one in particular) who regularly phones in sick on a Friday. So much so that when the bleep goes off at 7am to say there's a call, we all say "Migrane Friday!" In unison. Management appear to being doing nothing about the blatant manner of it and yet when I had 3 nights off when I pulled my back, I was taken into the office and warned that 3 periods of absence in 12 months would lead me to being referred to HR and Occ health. Bring it on

Aye I was more meaning that the issue of stress, depression and other mental health complaints not being taken seriously isn't going to be helped by mental health professionals responding with "half of them'll be swinging the lead!"

Had an allergic reaction to a sausage sandwich (not a euphemism) over the weekend. First time ever and was canny uncomfortable for about 5 minutes; tingles in my hands and face, my tongue swelled up and my stomach tightened but I'm not really arsed about that. If I can't eat sausage/pork for the rest of my life, I'm going to kick right off.

That sucks...are you sure it wasn't something else in the sandwich though? I've never heard of a pork allergy before (not saying it isn't possible though).

You can get beef sausages for what it's worth.

Was just sausage in there so it's probably some preservative in cheap, shite sausage that caused it. Or it was out of date. Either way, if I have to eat Quorn, I'll windmill my way through the doctor's practice.

Also, the pins and needles in my hands was a problem since I was trying to have a wank at the time.
