Last two seasons have been exciting with some dramatic games, the best fighting spirit shown for some time and some amazing results. Makes the off field antics of the board all the more infuriating.
-
Have pretty much knocked it all on the head these days bar the odd blowout, which has to be planned well in advance and is always regretted the next day because of the bairn. I had a misspent youth mind. Never touched smack or crack but dabbled in pretty much everything else. Pills and acid in the teens and twenties, coke in late twenties/ early thirties. Dope and booze throughout. I got into that meow meow stuff for a bit last year before the baby turned up. Not bad actually.

Wouldn't fancy it these days admittedly. Especially with the rain. Pass the pipe and slippers basically

There's something for everybody at glasto like. Last time I went a few years back i hardly spent any time at any of the main stages at all. Just wandered around off my tits at the fringes of the festival and getting mashed in the green fields talking knackers around a fire or having a dance at some of the smaller sound systems.

There's no way this toonpack lad is a fan like. Making out Ashley saved the club. I've yet to meet one fan that would agree with him.

What's the racist song sang against shoal like? Never heard it me

Fraser Forster or The Scottish Football Thread.

I'd like to see what he can do for us. Harper isn't getting any younger -
same. i was on toon-chat back in about 2000 or thereabouts when it was run by philip craig. then went over to newcastle online when the boards merged. go a message from craig asking to come ovet yo this board when it first formed. i divided my time between the two at first as NO was quicker and this one could still be a bit quiet. soon realised though that the better craic was to be had over here and haven't been on NO for a few years now.

i'm all for back a manager to build his own team in his own style. it's good news we're getting players in this early. but why completely dismantle a side that has over achieved the past two seasons? this bunh of players (at least in the first team) is a decent lot. plus they play for each other. why tear it apart altogether? makes no sense

Insulting working-class fans from the past

Another Nick classic. -
We don't have enough quality in the squad to be getting rid of the deadwood, particularly if we keep offloading first team players. Agree there is a lot of shite that would ideally be shifted but we don't have that luxury right now.
-
everyone likes a trier but this lad was just not good enough for the premiership. debatable as to whether he's good enough for the championship either tbh
-
give him the skipper's armband if barton goes.

my first father's day as a father. off to the hinds head in bray for lunch (heston's boozer). nice

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched

the blind side. schmaltzy but watchable, the wife loved it. 6/10 -
you'd have to be worried about the team spirit vanishing if we sign super egos like this kid. tidy player mind. him and a decent striker and no more outgoings would be pretty good going.
-
Sign him up.

I don't detect that much optimism when you and tiote nutz aren't posting. Most of us are cynical about transfers, given ashley's awful track record. While it's encouraging that we're doing business early in the window, most of us won't get too carried away until the window's shut. Until then, there's always a chance he'll sell more senior players without getting in adequate replacements.
-
That's assuming we hang on to Enrique, Barton et al. If we do, and we bring in another 2-3, including a quality striker I might agree.
-
He's not alone Golden nugget tbh

N'Zogbia ready to snub Liverpool for Newcastle

Go team France -
Nick is the biggest knuckle dragging slack jaw in this thread.

there's probably some french kid no one's heard of available on a free transfer waiting in the wings.
-
French U21 international Marveaux hasn't kicked a ball since November 2010 after suffering a groin tear and was recently reported to have failed a medical at Liverpool. The Mail state that he was available on a free. i'm not getting too excited about this one.

good news that he hasn't taken the number 9 shirt. hopefully the board will do the right thing and sanction the purchase of a top notch striker worthy of the number 9 shirt, with ba as the second choice and shola and best in their rightful places of 3rd and 4th choice off the bench. a couple more quality midfielders in combined with hanging on to the likes of enrique and barton and things won't look quite so gloomy
