The solid nucleus is due in no small part to the squad spirit fostered under Hughton. A case of the whole being better than the sum of the parts. What happens to that spirit when Enrique goes, Barton doesn't get a new deal etc, etc?

He could've easily saved it if he'd been stood on his line instead of in a heap on the corner of the six yard box. I'm not saying a keeper should never come off his line btw, more that there is a time & place for it, and if you do it you MUST make it to the ball. Pardoo acknowledged that it was a individual error on Krul's part in his post-match interview. Nothing wrong with errors. All players have them, even the best, but it deosnt stop that player being first choice. Who was responsible for the first goal? You'd surely agree that better players make fewer errors though? For their first the marking in general was a bit shambolic and Colo let Ivanovic get in front of him iirc.

I don't know about hopes, but what I expect is for our two or three best players to be picked off every season and replaced by cheaper & inferior players, plus the occasional gem to be unearthed until the current ownership sells up / gets us relegated again. I have zero faith in their ambition to push on. Surely buying Tiote and Ben Arfa was pushing on? See occasional gems Surely filling the squad with exciting prospects is pushing on? You mean Academy kids none of us have hardly seen? Surely replacing Ameobi and Best will be pushing on? You're assuming there. Lets wait and see. And yes we lost Carroll, but virtually everyone agreed that was a deal that was too good to turn down. The money was great but I bet less than a third of it goes into buying new players.

That's beyond optimism and a completely ridiculous statement. Not really. Had we possessed two decent strikers this season and kept Ben Arfa fit I think we can all agree we would have been a lot higher up the table. And we know that we can take points of the top 6 teams. Ofcourse its mostly down to opinion, but I think IF we add strikers (which looks likely), then we will be in a much stronger position than this year. No CT it's all down to your opinion, not mostly. Hence my comment that your statement is completely ridiculous. Given the fact this season hasn't yet ended let alone us know what the summer will yield and lose you can't possibly say we'll be on fire withouth any shadow of a doubt. But even a complete mongoloid could see that with Ben Arfa fit and two decent strikers this season would of been even better! We had a more than decent striker up until January and cashed in on him. Get used to it.

You two have O.D'd on the happy pills. Why would N'Zogbia suddenly decide he wants to be a leftback? Why would Matt 'just had an England call-up' Jarvis want to sit on our bench? (esp. if Wolves stay up). Do you not think other English clubs would blow us out of the water on fee & wages if & when a bidding war for Wickham breaks out? Huntelaar

Krul is a mile better than Harper. Learnin sure, but will keep on getting better and better. Don't be fucking stupid. Krul has potential but to say he's currently better than Harper is nothing short of ridiculous. In your opinion Harpers finished man. All he does is stand on the line. He never comes out to try and own the whole box and is about as agile as a dairy cow in wellies. Krul for me next season with Foster as back up. Hit the nail on the head, when Krul came up to the edge of the area and punched it out today I just thought "Yeah like Harper could do that!" Personally think he's a much better keeper, and don't see the point in keeping onto an old, past it keeper who was never great at the best of times What about when he came out to punch, missed, and they got their second goal? Would Harper have done that? Forster punches too much for my liking too, from what I've seen of him mind.

I'd look at Forster and Sodeberg (sp?) but Harps starts as No.1 next season.

Them going down makes it more likely that Carlton Cole will leave, and there's a chance he could end up here, so in that regard, its a pity.

lol how did you guess Yup and i'm assuming the sun or someone have helped them publish it,girl in work buys it and I think the first 6 pages of the sun everyday this week was a "Maddie!" section. Horrible what's happened to that kid, but i still think it was the parents. Couldn't agree more. My first thought when seeing Kate McCann has a book out about the daughter she left alone was she's got a fucking chee,k seen as though she's one of the prime suspects (imo).

He said it twice when Garth Crookes interviewed him after he made his league début iirc. Thick bastard.

Excellent points made by DK and Barney. The idea of N'somnia playing left back tickled me, as that's one of the reasons he sulked off in the first place. -

Your favourite stand up comedians?
Dr Kenneth Noisewater replied to Toonraider's topic in General Chat
I'm with Ant, his stand-up in not great, and he's actually got progressively worse, with 'Science' being particularly weak imo. -
Didn't he spit on a Rangers scarf when he was a player?

You better change that before Mr McFaul sees it

They've already said the Carroll money has to cover incoming fees and wages. 2 x £5m signings on 30k/week over 5.5 years and it's nearly all accounted for.

Firefox 4.0 was a bit temperamental for me at first, so I flicked between that and Chrome. I prefer Chrome now, and use that the majority of the time.
