  1. Think that Palermo game was smack dab in the middle of Sibierski’s run of being unplayable against Ukrainian window cleaners. What team was it when he baffled about 3 of them with a bit of skill and slotted it past the keeper? That’s how it is in my memory anyway
  2. Aye, if you were scripting this, it’s the only place for it to go to ensure maximum comic effect. Just the image of him in the directors box with that coat on would be funny enough
  3. FWIW, I think Howe is a good coach and he’s definitely capable of finding a system that has a good balance and allows his best players to see a lot of the ball and plays to their strengths. I tend to think top class managers have it in their locker to be reactive in big games and, on a broader scale, consistently build squads through the peaks and transitions when they’re at clubs for a while. Howe certainly did that at Bournemouth (until they hit their ceiling at the end) and only time will tell if he can manage that here and build a squad that’s capable of getting high up. He certainly has the budget for it but you so often see managers get given money and spunk it on shite because they can’t think past mediocrity. Bruno and Trippier are a good start but the summer should be massively transformative if his ambition for the playing side matches the owners.
  4. I’d say, as long as Howe has us steadily climbing the table over the next few years while Ashworth sorts the dreck out at every other level, he’ll be comfortable in his job for a while yet. It’ll only be when the club should convincingly be challenging for Europe and having cup runs that the real pressure on him will kick in and that’s when you can start judging him alongside the likes of Keegan and Robson who delivered consistent quality at the top end. For now, Howe looks a world above shite like McClaren, Bruce and Carver and that’s what matters for us in the short term.
  5. Not sure he’s got a leg to stand on now that he wasn’t planning on actually paying for sponsorship ffs
  6. Signed and delivered. On a side note, has anyone been on the Strawberry’s terrace recently? Fucking hell, what a joke those builds are. Practically touching
  7. I don’t understand the grift in it all. It’s not like you make money and there are far easier ways to get attention these days
  8. Likewise but I’m much much younger than you so it’s to the knackers yard for you. Off you go
  9. I hope this means another 6 month of him talking shit about buying the club, just for yet more shattered Wearside dreams
  10. Wonder how that has been received over there. They’re the last ones to realise, like
  11. Aye, see you there, Tom. There’d better be a complimentary deli meat spread on
  12. Wood is the kind of player who would have an absolutely shit hot run in the Europa Conference Group Stages for when we inevitably get there
  13. Sorry to hear that, mate. Takes some bravery from your old man that, like. MF and PLs too.
  14. Merk’d, I think it was called The shite you remember
  15. Those three wins, combined with the results around us, have basically made West Ham a game that we can afford to lose. Obviously, you don’t want to be battered and you’d want to be straight back to winning ways against Brentford but we’ve eased the pressure on ourselves massively where if it’s a narrow loss on Saturday, it’s not the end of the world
  16. My favourite Mitrovic moment was when Fulham came up last season and he couldn’t score for love or money when they actually needed him to
  17. I really can’t see any of the bottom three going on the kind of run we’ve just went on tbh. MAYBE at the end of the season if they’re playing teams who are on their holidays but that game against Burnley on the last day of the season is a godsend, I reckon. They’re the most likely to be down and out, players will have fucked it off and we’ll swoop in and collect 3 points.
  18. Willock offers a lot of industry when he’s playing but he’d be the one I’d drop for Bruno atm.
  19. They’re the live game on Sky tonight against a decent Blackburn side who will be desperate for a win. Could be a very entertaining watch
  20. To be fair, the ownership that the Premier League fought tooth and nail to keep out will DEFINITELY get favourable decisions
  21. Think coming on as he did, just after half time, is always tricky and while he wasn’t perfect, the defence still kept a clean sheet so he definitely did something right. Also, he moved his leg 40mm and caught Watkins offside. Great defending that he definitely meant
  22. How many minutes did Defoe get this week? Maybe by April, he’ll be able to complete a half
