Linked with Liverpool in the summer window IIRC. Depends on how much he costs, might be worth a punt, we can hardly do worse than the chumps we currently have masquerading as 'strikers.'
-
Be a shame to put a Santa hat on Temuri's shiny bonce. I'll try to think of something else that'll be festive enough.

I didn't say Krul had been awful, I said he's not been great and I'm sticking with that. It was a great save and he had another good reflex save earlier in the match, but he doesn't fill me with confidence when he comes out and flaps at various aerial balls. I'd leave him as #1 for the time being but have Harper ready to take back over if he hits a patch of bad form.
-
Krul's not been great. I'll 100% agree that some of the performances this season have been the best in a very long time and are cause for hope.
-
Good riddance you slimy fat shit! Get in there!

No guarantee tbh, I've seen him linked with West Ham this morning as well and he was at Fulham's home draw with Sunderland, both struggling teams who'd benefit from him, also both London clubs. If I were him I'd pass on Sheffield, he's big enough for a Premier League job tbh.

Carroll had a poor game? He was absolutely devastating. Ferguson is a child and in no way shape or form should be starting ahead of Jonas (although I can agree that he should be on the bench and getting a bit of a run out now and then), our best results have come (barring Villa) with Barton on the wing and Routledge is a Championship player anyway, and the less said about "we mean something to Ashley" and "Europe here we come", the better. Did you watch, like? Honest question.

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
acrossthepond replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
5 and a half years. I wonder if there'll still be such a thing as Newcastle United FC by that time. Certainly not the way we're going now. I made the reference to Burnley earlier in this thread and there's nothing else that describes this so concisely. Young and upcoming manager brings the club into the top flight again on a shoestring, gets good results, leaves (of course, Coyle left of his own volition and Hughton was disgracefully hoyed out, but we'll gloss over that for the moment), and is replaced by a shit manager who is not only shit but has a track record that demonstrates that he's shit. Relegation ensues. The best part is that after having this shit once again, we're going to have to listen to Ashley, Llambias, and their proxy on this board, the Tree (Plank would be more accurate) tell us that this is actually success.- 10610 replies

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team

Sound familiar? Funny how you have so much faith in Ashley now when you didn't have enough then. Would you like a little wager on whether Pardew, if appointed, lasts until the end of the season? Loser takes a 6 month break? I'm always up for it.- 10610 replies

Christ, you don't half chat shit CT. Ought to be ashamed of what's coming out of your mouth. You're in a state of perpetual rationalization, always trying to find the good in Ashley's latest fuckups that prove he actually has the club's best interest at heart and whatever he does will benefit the club. When he really screws up, you have to put on a bit of an angry face for a day or two and then go back to the regularly scheduled program. When we appointed Hughton and many on here, myself included, were complaining he was just a glorified yes man, you told us how great he was going to be, how dignified, what a class man-manager. You turned out to be right! But now that Ashley has discarded him, he's back to being a chump and the so-called "gang of four" was actually running the first team and were responsible for the progress we've had. Now Pardew is going to get the backing that none of Keegan, Kinnear, Shearer, and Hughton - all Ashley appointments - has enjoyed. I don't think so. Have you learned nothing from the past 3 years? I don't buy this 'conspiracy' charge against Pardew and I don't see any reason off the bat to boo him, that much is true. Like Kinnear before him, we're going to have to put up with him. But let's not delude ourselves into thinking that Pardew is suddenly going to be able to galvanise this team. Many players have spoken out against the treatment of Hughton and I have no doubt that some of them will be looking to leave. Even without player unrest, Pardew is a proven crap manager. We doubted Hughton's managerial skills when he was first appointed because he was an unknown quantity and he gave us a massive shock. But Pardew's track record is there for all to see - crap, crap, crap. Shit isn't magically going to turn into Shinola. Pardew is crap and he will still be crap when he walks into SJP. This is a decision that has no discernible positives, no hidden benefit to find. Remember what happened to Burnley when they replaced Owen Coyle (class) with Brian Laws (gash)? Why will it be different for us?- 10610 replies

Jesus wept man, wasn't so long ago you were banging on about Hughton being the new SBR and talking about how he was the man to solve all our problems. Now that we actually started to take to him and Ashley's chucked him out like so much trash, it turns out he wasn't really all that great after all?- 10610 replies

acrossthepond replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Pardew, at least we won't have to listen to him giving it the billy big bollocks act. wouldn't count on that, Fat sam would've at least played tevez and mascherano instead of leaving them on the bench Aye, he would've played Tevez at RB and Mascherano as a lone striker.- 10610 replies

I don't even know what to say. I think I'd got my hopes up that Fat Mike was actually trying to get someone he saw as "better" than Hughton in, so that even though sacking Hughton was a classless, unnecessary and truly cock-eyed decision, he was at least trying to improve the club. Pardew is a downgrade on Hughton as I think anyone would agree. Hughton took us back up after relegation - Pardew left Charlton in 11th his first season down and on course for relegation in his second before getting sacked and ending up getting sacked AGAIN in League 1. It's just another cheap, "jobs for the boys" situation almost PRECISELY like JFK. What was the name of that play? "You couldn't make it up?" I feel a modicum of pity for Pardew. I wonder how it's going to feel, walking out onto the pitch at SJP on Saturday to witness the fury of fans who simply do not want you.- 10610 replies

thats fucking tragic as is the whole thing in general... Just noticing your avatar aswell of old Beardo. Great player but lots of noises from lots of sources tonight alleging that he's a very political figure at St James and frequents Ashleys arse a little too often. Something you and he have in common, then. Have you experienced inexplicable chin growth over the past twelve months? Are you Pedro? Are you Pedro? Are you Pedro in disguise?
-
Dont understand this post. If you wouldnt say no, think he's a class manager and he ticks all the boxes......Then surely Ashley would have made the right decision. (iyo) If you'd asked me at 9am this morning, I would've told you I want to keep Hughton. Now that he's gone, I'd surely take Jol over Pardew/Curbs/O'Neill/any of the other perennial candidates/chumps. Sven'd be linked with us too if he hadn't just gone to Leicester.
-
This wouldn't nullify my outrage at the treatment of Hughton, but he ticks all the boxes and tbh he's a class manager. I wouldn't say no.

Who do you want as the next manager of NUFC?

Thanks Chris. Another manager sold short and who'll no doubt be vilified for his imagined 'failings'. We know the truth though.

Same line CT's been trotting out for 2 years now, hope nobody's surprised that other Ashley cronies feel the same.
