Newcastle United 1-3 Manchester City
acrossthepond replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
Another loss where we batter the opposition and come away with nowt to show from it. I'm done with Krul, time Harper was back in, and I hope the Routledge sub was just a brain freeze from Pardew rather than an example of what "observations" he makes during the game, since Routledge was one of our best players. Lots of fouls from them as we might've expected. I think some of them had a bet on whose tackle would eventually crock Barton since they went after him with a will. I thought Tiote had an excellent game apart from giving away the second goal and I'm pleased he didn't get booked for once. Not too bothered about losing to Man City, even at home. Time to get thinking about the next game. -

We can beat these. They're a side with plenty of stars (and egos) but no cohesion and a bizarre manager in Mancini. We've been better at times this season than Everton were against them last week and if we can reproduce a similar level of performance to that which beat Liverpool, we'll be fine. I certainly hope there's no retaliation against de Jong. We've already been hit with 2 retrospective bans this season, we could do without losing another key player for 3 games. Beating these smug blue shites without any foul play will only sting them more. -
A very merry Christmas to you all

Meenzer's posts are great and often hilarious. If you were older you'd know who Nico is. Who the fuck is John Anderson, Kevin?

ASM far and away, and I wish he'd go far, far away. You know, like he's already promised to do twice.

You need some sweater puppies instead mate. Looks at Monkeys Fist running away with the general posters title. He had Salma bouncing around for months ! LM for me too.

Rafa's lost the plot completely over the last 6-7 months. I doubt there'll be another big club who want anything to do with him and his mystic mutterings of priests and white liquids. Stark raving.

I thought this would be a Parky-style "Gone" thread.

Cringeworthy thread tbh. Leazes chats endless shit, sure, but he's just one shit-chatter on a board full of them (including several people who are having a go in this thread.) I can see where the 'cliquey' label comes from on this display. Leazes obviously has his flaws and there have been times when I've been first in line to point them out, but this is embarrassing.

Why would he ever go to West Ham or Villa? Both of them are shit and both well below us in the table not to mention that Wist 'Am will be touring the Championship for sure next season. Sounds like a load of slow news day.

Fat or C.? I'm hoping we're talking about fat Ronaldo.

Ayatollah Hermione?? I liked A NICE HAT.

Vacancy at Blackburn, Hodgson, Grant and Hughes all looking to be standing on shaky ground, and an unemployed Hughton makes for an interesting Christmas season. No doubt the owners will be seriously considering who they want in charge of spending their funds in January and I think seeing 2-3 changes by New Year might not be out of the question. So let's play the merry-go-round. I think Hodgson and Hughes could both fancy going back to their old clubs where they'll receive a hero's welcome, but Hughton (who watched their game v. the Mackems last weekend) could be a contender for the Fulham job too. Fat Sam will likely go to West Ham and then disappear into the Championship (here's hoping!) Who do you think will be sacked and who will come in to replace them?

Linked with Liverpool in the summer window IIRC. Depends on how much he costs, might be worth a punt, we can hardly do worse than the chumps we currently have masquerading as 'strikers.'

Be a shame to put a Santa hat on Temuri's shiny bonce. I'll try to think of something else that'll be festive enough.

I didn't say Krul had been awful, I said he's not been great and I'm sticking with that. It was a great save and he had another good reflex save earlier in the match, but he doesn't fill me with confidence when he comes out and flaps at various aerial balls. I'd leave him as #1 for the time being but have Harper ready to take back over if he hits a patch of bad form.
-
Krul's not been great. I'll 100% agree that some of the performances this season have been the best in a very long time and are cause for hope.
-
Good riddance you slimy fat shit! Get in there!

No guarantee tbh, I've seen him linked with West Ham this morning as well and he was at Fulham's home draw with Sunderland, both struggling teams who'd benefit from him, also both London clubs. If I were him I'd pass on Sheffield, he's big enough for a Premier League job tbh.

Carroll had a poor game? He was absolutely devastating. Ferguson is a child and in no way shape or form should be starting ahead of Jonas (although I can agree that he should be on the bench and getting a bit of a run out now and then), our best results have come (barring Villa) with Barton on the wing and Routledge is a Championship player anyway, and the less said about "we mean something to Ashley" and "Europe here we come", the better. Did you watch, like? Honest question.

Don't know if someone already posted this in the Pardew thread, delete if so: Tell it like it is, Kev! From http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story...and&cc=5901

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
acrossthepond replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
5 and a half years. I wonder if there'll still be such a thing as Newcastle United FC by that time. Certainly not the way we're going now. I made the reference to Burnley earlier in this thread and there's nothing else that describes this so concisely. Young and upcoming manager brings the club into the top flight again on a shoestring, gets good results, leaves (of course, Coyle left of his own volition and Hughton was disgracefully hoyed out, but we'll gloss over that for the moment), and is replaced by a shit manager who is not only shit but has a track record that demonstrates that he's shit. Relegation ensues. The best part is that after having this shit once again, we're going to have to listen to Ashley, Llambias, and their proxy on this board, the Tree (Plank would be more accurate) tell us that this is actually success.- 10610 replies
