We need someone who can play wide just as much as a striker. We have Cisse, Gouffran and Remy who could play through the middle. Ben Arfa is our only real wide player, hopefully Sammy kicks on this season but saying we have "400 midfielders" is completely ignoring what position they actually play.

He's not exactly Ferguson skinny in fact he looks fairly stocky for a footballer and players like Lennon, SWP, Defoe, Pienaar etc.. have hardly struggled. From what I understand Campbell is all about pace and finishing, he doesn't need to be some giant to get by in this league.

The club obviously wanted the cash, no-one would have turned down that offer but lets not pretend Carroll was "forced" out. He was as happy as Ashley with the money coming his way. You can't force a player out of a club these days, see Alan Smith as an example of this. I don't care if Carroll said it, the only thing that "forced" him out was Liverpool offering him a shed load of money.
