Nah, Isak was well thought of at Dortmund and Sociedad then he had a poor season which probably made him less of a priority for other teams. He was also behind Wilson in the pecking order for various points in his first season here. It's only the last 18 months or so he's found some consistency again. Samu is a risk because he's had one good season in a league where Darwin Nunez looked like a world beater

Liverpool have fucked us. I'm not sure how Isak rows back from this now. He could have a couple of weeks ago, but the latest "leak" put him past the point of no return imo. I'm not sure PSR limitations allow us to buy an outright replacement without selling him though. Which means we either go into the season with Osula/Wissa as our only strikers, or we sell Isak to find a replacement. If it's the latter I would hope it was to anyone other than Liverpool. PSG and Barca seem like the 2 likeliest options. Maybe Bayern if we can convince Kane to come the other way. If City sell Mcatee and Savinho they might take the piss and put a bid in too.

It's also fucking pointless making us sell Anderson for £35m on June 30th to stay within PSR, when you can then go out and replace him on July 1st with a player worth similar or more (or 12 months later in our case).

He served us well, but he was fucking awful as a sub last season. And he was probably our 6th choice CM by the end of the season.

I never said he was dead wood as a senior pro. But if he's not starting every game for QPR in the championship, I'm not sure he's going to fare well in the Champions League.

Realistically, out of the starting XI, there was only GK, CB and RW to upgrade, and we've signed players in all 3 positions. The rest of the upgrades need to be getting rid of the ropey squad players (Longstaff, Targett, Vlachodimos, Ashby, Wilson etc) which is where Wissa, Ramsey etc come in.

I might be wrong, but I suspect we will try to move Willock on, and the Leicester kid still comes in as Longstaff's replacement.
