The WBA light-welterweight champion has the next 18 months of his career mapped out, starting with his unification showdown against Zab Judah in Las Vegas on July 23. Next up would be a likely fight with Erik Morales in December followed by a return to the UK where the 24-year-old would step up to welterweight, with British rival Kell Brook in his sights. But the most mouth watering prospect of all has been pencilled in for November 2012 when Schaefer hopes Khan will meet Mayweather. 'We believe in Amir and believe he is ready. These are big plans but Team Khan are on board,' he said. 'I've had conversations with Mayweather and his adviser Al Haymon and they are definitely open to a fight with Amir Khan, absolutely.' Mayweather, who is scheduled to meet Victor Ortiz in September, has told Schaefer he wants to deliver the fight boxing needs most by agreeing to face Manny Pacquiao. 'Floyd has indicated he would like to do the Pacquiao fight,' said Schaefer. 'He said to me he'd be open to fighting Pacquiao next if the testing issue can be sorted out. 'Amir would then fight in the autumn against Mayweather. 'I spent the last week with Mayweather and he said he wants to fight more than once per year. 'Whether he delivers on that promise, I don't know, but I really believe he does want to fight several times a year. 'He's mentioned to me the possibility of fighting in December again. 'Floyd has rediscovered his love for boxing and is ready to go. He's hungry again.' Mayweather wants to fight in the UK at some point, but Schaefer believes any clash with Khan would have to be staged in the United States. 'Mayweather absolutely loves the British fans so I wouldn't rule out him fighting here,' he said. 'He feels the UK market is the biggest one for him outside the US. 'We'd have to see if we could do the Khan fight here from a timing and pay-per-view point of view, but it's a big stretch.' Khan's encounter with IBF champion Judah will be screened on Primetime with Schaefer indicating the little-known channel is now his home following his dispute with Sky Sports. 'It seems like Amir's future is with Primetime. They have done very well and treated Amir with respect,' he said. 'The relationship is growing and as you grow you get closer together. It's the beginning of a really nice relationship. 'The pay-per-view numbers Primetime are delivering are very encouraging. People are looking at them. It's more about the huge fuss that has been made over the suggestion of olympic-style testing. Why not do it? It extends to the sport as a whole, because the testing isn't rigorous enough and there have been some very high-profile cases of top boxers using performance enhancers. Manny has bulked up a lot, and quickly, over the last few years, and he's retained his speed whilst increasing his power. It's really quite extraordinary. His technique has improved a lot too and he is a smarter fighter than he was when he lost to Morales etc. I really like Pacman, and I'd be very disappointed to discover he was a juicer, but it's up to him to quash any doubts the fans have about that, and he's done the opposite with his reaction to the proposed measures. You can argue it's to do with the relationship (or lack thereof) between his camp and Mayweather's, but athletes should have a duty to the fans to show they are clean, or just go all out and get pumped on roids and fight wild animals instead.
