Of course it's bullshit. The day the team got relegated it wasn't mentioned in the dressing room by the players or manager? Their family didn't bring it up? Their agent didn't explain why their wage dropped by 50%? They weren't asked about it in an interview?

Official statement and they can't even spell his name correctly   They literally can't do anything right.

At first I thought they'd just spelled it wrong twice, but they've somehow managed to spell it differently in the same document.

They are fucking Poundland aren't they?

Scraping the barrel for content as per, the need to feed their obsession with NUFC and no surprise it's Dangerwank on thread creation duties  Totally ignoring the examples of them doing exactly the same thing

The clip of their club and the fact they are up shit creek is irrelevant to them obviously.

Really sad, cringeworthy stuff actually. They went down bottom of the league, have no players worth the name, no money, got knocked back by the Aberdeen manager () ended up with some bloke we trounced a few times last year, have got drunken dullards mouthing off about teammates, got humped 5-0 on their own patch by fucking Glasgow Celtic before their season opener on Friday, and this is what they cling to.

There really aren't enough 'jesus wept' emoticons/gifs for this. FFS.

They need something to cling to right now, the state they're in, bless

Also, it probably winds them up something fierce that we, as a fan base, are starting to feel somewhat connected back to the manager and the players whereas they haven't been able to stand any of their rabble for about 3 seasons. Oh, except for idolising a nonce for a bit there.

Aye, also it'll no doubt hurt that their woes coincide with a sense of optimism and progress for us. If we had stayed in the Championship I don't think they'd be as salty.

Doesn't help that whenever they're mentioned in the press (for purely on-field issues) they tend to be compared to us.

"Sunderland have failed to land their first choices for manager and a disrupted preseason for Grayson doesn't compare well with Benitez's focussed assurance in the previous summer"

"Sunderland have gone down but don't look like they're aiming to come straight back up as Newcastle United managed"

"Sunderland haven't invested significantly in their Championship squad like Middlesbrough have and Newcastle did.
