Just never turned up there at all not one of them. It seems like Krul saved up any mental lapses all season and let them out in this game, Williamson forgetting all his prior decent games and promptly returning to the complete non entity we all know he is. Toothless and very very disappointing plus losing 4-0 to turds like Wigan is very embarrassing, just hope Chelsea and Spurs don't capitilise and we actually turn up against Chelsea.

It does seem weird that we perform so well for so long and then we just don't seem to turn up and it's happened a few times this season, mind if this is the price we pay for being so fantastic for the rest of the season then it's worth it.

Fair play to Wigan they'vs been fantastic recently.

A kick in the balls to our champions league hopes for sure but let's hope the other relegation threatened teams put up a similar fight tomorrow.

Ambushed basically and really not sure why we looked so shellshocked? They were always going to play maurading wingback...Our camp must have watched their last few fantastic wins....Full credit to Wigan. Jumped out of the gate and battered us. We looked lost and confused...Maybe the CL thing has been playing on their minds. Let's get a result at Chelsea, we're more than capable of it.

Spot on.

I don't actually think this says a whole lot about the team.

The word is 'out'.

Out classed.

Out played.

Out shone.

Out fought.

Out scored.

Not even a consolation goal, but some consolation the scoreline wasn't higher than four.

Another typical Newcastle shot in the foot display against a lower club. 3 points doon the netty.

Surprised Pardew took BenArfa off as he was just beginning to put his stamp on the game.

Very disappointing result to say the least.

Needless to say, Wigan suffocated us first half. Came out and played some lovely stuff, used the width of the pitch and scored a couple of crackers. As for us, we never got going. The early tactics were long balls that didn't come off, Cabaye and Ben Arfa weren't given a touch first half, Ba was woeful in the first 45 and they had too much for our defence which looked as weak as the Spuds/Fulham games back in January.

Not sure what to make of it, cos it was a million miles off last week and all the previous six games really. Chelski are a team on form so it's going to have to be a special effort to come back from this at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

I'm glad some of you delusionists are still feeling positive after that first half, I don't see the 'real' big teams with performances like that or conceding that many goals.

'real' big teams like Man U and Arsenal have both had bigger losses than that this season alone (man u lost 6-1 and Arsenal lost 8-2) whilst Chelsea and Spurs have also had massive tonkings.

Like I said, it's only one match. I don't think it'll damage the player's too much - in fact it might have shocked them to the point where they up their game.

Think it was difficult for Pards in the sense that if we played a high line they had too much pace. The again by sitting deep the wing-backs come up and they have 5 in midfield. Both solutions aren't good. if we started 5 in mf and dropped Ba then he's acused of not 'going for it'. Putting all that aside we just didn't compete and Willo and Simpson are basically accidents waiting to happen. Both were shit and Simpson looked like he's already moved clubs the cunt.

Fucked up games all round today. Didn't deserve owt today. Wigan deserved the win.

We've won our season, in Europa next. Now we're having a long shot at a bonus. Nowt gave us the right to win today and lets be realistic, we ain't a top 4 side but we've been on a good run. 4 from the next 3 games would end an excellent season.

Lets keep our feet on the deck though eh.

Big losses against fellow 'big' teams, not shit like Wigan - even when Arsenal lost to Blackburn they still managed to get three consolation goals.

Wigan are in the form of their lives and have beaten Man U and Arsenal in recent weeks, albeit not as heavily but our run was bound to end eventually. That result could just as easily have happened to Spurs imo.

im laying the blame at the 3 man defence tactic, it clearly wasnt working and no change was made till we were 4-0 down. It was complete chaos at the back, noone knew where to position themselves or who to pick up.

Really, a back three of Simpson, Willo and the best defender, Colo out on the left?? disastrous! If its not broke...

Jonas was in midfield all the time too and not helping out at left back. Tiote poor too. all in all a poor display but its still all to play for and lessons will be learned.
