Rumour I heard, but the guy who said it is a bit of a gobshite. He's waved his signing on bonus (10% of his salary for length of contract, around 1m), but he'll get a 1.5m bonus for keeping us in the league and release clause if we go down. We are using the signing on fee to buy him out of his contract (2m agreed with his club). No doubt he'll be an excuse for getting no1 in the summer. Think it was right to get him in now rather than wait. If he's as good as we're being told then we really need him now and the money we pay for him will still be a bargain.
