Would be amusing just to see the reaction from people if Turkey joined the EU because we couldn't veto it and the free trade agreement meant we couldn't stop any Turkish immigrants coming to the UK. According to the census 2011 there are almost 3 million people having at least one parent immigrated from Turkey. In 2013, there were 1,550,000 Turkish citizens in Germany which accounted for 22.1% of Germany's foreign population and thus the largest ethnic minority.
