Apparently the deal with Carlos is v close. They want more upfront where we want it spread for FFP.

Whether we pay the full amount upfront or stagger it over five years doesn't make a difference to FFP.

Makes a difference to cash flow though. They reckon we're trying to do the same with Ekitike and drip feed the actual cash cost over the course of the contract. Not sure why selling clubs would be happy with this mind cos it fucks their cash flow for finding a replacement.

It's the way every club works apart from ours under Ashley.

Really really want this Carlos lad. Full on nasty shithouse of a CB, won’t take any shit and would instill some bollocks to the rest of the players around him. Looks like an actual good centre back as well even if he does seem to have a clanger in him every now and again.

Newcastle interest in midfielder 'strong and concrete' - Club need 'more than €20m' to 'think about a sale' - Sport Witness

Interesting report about Haidara stating that the 80m being cited over here is seemingly way over the top. According to reports in Germany it's either a bid of more than 20m euro, or higher than his 33m pound release clause that doesn't activate until the summer. So a big difference between roughly 17m pound and 33, but certainly better than the 80m being quoted in some quarters.
