Nah, if he’s still here an available for selection then it would do no harm for him to get game time under his belt considering he’s missed the entire preseason.

Aye right and comes back with a thigh or groin ‘injury’

I'd much rather he stayed and got trained by Howe. No guarantees that Sweden even pick him with zero game time under his belt, and Gyokeres scoring at Arsenal.

The "hilarious" David Squires with a series of digs at Newcastle and its fans and precisely NONE about Liverpool. They must have someone with some actual decent jokes that could write these things?

I wouldn’t mind him particularly having digs at us if it was funny.

Is it the unbiased consensus on here that Gravenburk and Kuntate should have both been sent off, and that we had at least one clear cut pen. I'm not clear if the second yellow, possible red for Konate was inside or outside the box, I'd got up to get a beer or something at that point. I've been avoiding watching highlights until now given how fucked off I was about the match.

Replying to you in the correct chat PB before Gemmill does his nut about general forum etiquette

Konate was on a yellow and clearly pushed Barnes to the ground. 2nd yellow card for me, made no attempt to the get ball and every attempt to unsettle our player (oh, the irony!)

Gravenberch's was probably a yellow and a final warning. It wasn't as brutal as Gordon's challenge and given it was so early on, I don't think it's red card territory. If he set the bar that low after 7 minutes then who knows how many we'd have ended up with on each side.

Thanks, and apologies to everyone for putting it in the wrong thread. I can see what you're saying about Gravenberch, but for me it was the sort of tackle that transcends the time at which it's done. I honestly think it was as bad as Gordon's tackle in terms of how dangerous is was.

Well, i stopped watching at 2-1 because I was feeling murderous psychopathic. Walked back to my hotel, checked and it was 2-2 just as they scored and Sky updated to 3-2. It is was it is. There are plenty of positives but I genuinely am raging at one individual who could have been critical in propelling us to the next level. Fuck it, it's only a game.

One other thing, the mackems have literally demonstrated that our games are more important to them than their own. 3200 posts on a SINGLE GAME man.

Their match thread on us.

I think Gravenberch's challenge could be considered reckless, I'm not sure it met the threshold of serious foul play. Gordon's definitely did.

The barometer for me is always how would I feel if it was my team in that position. I'd have been livid with a red card for one of our players for that challenge - especially after 7 mins.

Gordon's, however. Gave them no option. He's left stud marks all the way down the back of his calf. Not intentional, but serious foul play non-the-less.

Aye, we didn't lose that game because of a bad decision, we didn't even lose it because of Gordon - we lost it because of Isak. Not really looking to fault the ref much for this one.

For my sins I've been listening to Talksport in the last hour. Goldstein (who I never used to able to stand) is on with Darren Bent and they get some retarded Bin Dipper call in.

This dickhead was absolutely convinced Liverpool are better this season than last - his reasoning? Liverpool have taken 6 points from Bournemouth (H) & Newcastle (A) this season and they only took 5 last season. Goldstein pointed out they beat Bournemouth 3-0 last season and this year they've twice thrown away 2-0 leads only to win the game at the death. This moron was unmoved.

He then added that we were without a recognised striker and that our makeshift striker was sent off before half time and they only just scraped a win. Still this gammon was having none of it. Then started talking over Goldstein despite being asked several times to wait and let him finish his question. He wouldn't, so was promptly cut off.

The absolute tit! These people walk amongst us

Strongly disagree there.

The gordon sending off was correct, but gravenberch could have walked, konate should have and we should have had a pen for that challenge on joelinton.

As per its a different set of rules for Liverpool than anyone else, it only took until the second game for the "crackdown" on in box grappling to not be to their benefit and what do you know it suddenly doesn't get called.

Next time these cunts want a super league we ought to just let them go.

I don't mind the Death Star FC stuff, that was funny the first couple of times, but the entire thing is just a hit piece with no context or nuance that explains our situation. A vapid, uninformed take on the whole thing.

Thats just the guardian on anything Newcastle related.

Theres never been a version of us where we've not been a punching bag in some way. Now its the lowest hanging fruit possible (saudi=baaaad) but before that it was funny that we had mike ashley ruining us or steve bruce as manager etc. etc. and so on.

Does anyone honestly think The Guardian would still make continual reference to the ownership if the Saudis had bought Liverpool or Man Utd? Despite their misplaced air of smug superiority that paper’s coverage of football is fucking shite. And I think it was HMHM who pointed out our having someone as appalling bad as Louise Taylor covering the north east for the last 20 years or so shows they’re as contemptuous of the region as any of their supposedly less progressive rivals.

Aye, he needs to drop some more clues, open up a bit more.

Dickheads in his replies claiming coming to SJP is like going to Goodison and we just try and kick lumps out of them. Only one team lost three players to injury, but you know...

I really hope they win fuck all this season. I'd take an Arsenal title win over Liverpool this season. Especially if the prick ends up there.

Early days, but I'd be a bit concerned about £115m for Florian Wirtz if I was a Liverpool fan btw.

Plucky upstarts Liverpool defying all logic to win the league with their £800m squad.

How many Liverpool fans are from Liverpool

Less than half of LFC fans are from Liverpool. They bang on about asterisks and oil clubs, doing it the right way etc.

They are the football equivalent of Disneyland for plastic tourist fans.

Founded on gambling money in the 50s, they were nowhere and nobody before the littlewood fortune was spunked into them and plucked them from 2nd division obscurity.

Olympic level hypocrisy for me they are even worse than MUFC.

The money side is one thing, Heysel and the ban are something else.

Everton had their best side ever destroyed by that lot.
