I think it depends on what formation Pardew is playing come next season, because i believe Barton will leave by the summer from being forced out and i think if that happens a 4-3-3 formation will probably come about Im hoping the way things are looking arn't true, but i really think the base of our team will be gradually broken down

Any positives about signing Cabaye are totally dashed by the Barton news, and to even think that Cabaye can autimatically take the place of Kevin Nolan get the goals he does, captains the team like he does, brings to the team what he does is utterly baffling. We should be keeping hold of Barton, offering him the contract he deserves and then bringing in these players IN WHICH WEVE ONLY BEEN LINKED WITH, we've got a threadbare squad and are getting rid of two of our top players, we should be keeping them and getting players in to improve our sqauad and not one player in and one out. So where exactly is most of the people from Level 7 re-locating too? I'm devastated that theyve done what theyve done to us. Ashley's stewardship and discontent for the fans is utterly shambolic. It isn't all like fm you know. A relegation release clause can mean a severance of a contract in the event of relegation, not just that a club has to accept offers. This is often the case when players sign during a relegation battle to protect themselves if the worst does happen. I am not saying that is the case for him but it is absolutely 100% possible and has happened in the past (Although more often than not with players who cost nothing to purchase) unsure whether or not ba cost them anything! All I am saying is come June 1st dependent how his contract was written it is POSSIBLE he could become a free agent! They payed £7 million for him and i know the West Ham board are stupid but I don't think they're stupid enough to have a free transfer clause written into his contract after they payed £7 Million for him only a few months ago

I think he see's himself as a player who shold be playing for a top club playing in Europe etc, so i doubt we'll be seeing him here anytime soon
