Cook's gone as captain like. Probably good for him and the team going forward. I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water though as he's still a class player and Bayliss and Farbrace have had, on the whole, a very positive impact on the team.

Was a bit more than slightly below par. Just look at how easy India found it and also look at the way in which Rashid and Dawson batted. I.e. batting time and working hard for the right to play your shots. I take your point they should've batted out for a draw but you already know that because I said that yesterday. Anyway, we're just repeating ourselves but not enough batsmen get the big hundreds once they're in or convert 40s/50s/60s into tons. Also, batting records have come tumbling in recent years and will continue to do so. Historical precedent has a relevance but not in the way it once did. In any case, if you're going to argue England's 477 was a good score surely the fact that India got the biggest score ever against England (and declared) puts it into context. Especially with England batting first. India are class but do they really have loads more batting talent than that England side? I don't think so. Obviously they have better spinners but still...

It's easy to forget how long Barry's been going. I think KK gave him his England debut (at LB).

The positive from a football point of view is that Diame has started to look the part, albeit alongside Shelvey.

It was a poor score first innings score given the circumstances, despite it being over 400. Same with the last test. The collapses are a worry but they only happen because of not getting enough runs in the first innings. Too many players getting out to daft shots instead of really grafting.

Well, that was utterly fucking pathetic.

Probably factoring in champagne enemas

Well that assumes a lot of things don't change in the next quarter of a century.

Most likely to be recruited by Jihadists and the CIA, Shirley (if he hasn't been already)

Gloom's more than comfortably off from what he's said and probably views it as a chance to get a bit of fresh air, check out some flange etc. (we all do it ) so I can see from it from his pov too. But bringing in my own bait is no-brainer for my circumstances. Like you say, better and cheaper than the other options.

That's what I thought. There's not even any subtitles

I'm with Gemmill re: wasting money unnecessarily. The correct rationale should be you then spend it on other, better stuff. A tenner a day on something that takes about 5 mins is potty to my way of thinking.

In the public sector. Wanna bet?

This thing that we've failed to define does indeed allude to this nebulous idea

Yeah, nobody with kids could ever make packed lunch for the next day. It takes about 5 minutes if that. Not long ago you were buying overpriced produce that you got delivered and involved you cooking meals from scratch. Although I suspect you've scrapped that bollocks tbf

Gan easy on the cowies, it's a school night.
