  1. Wouldn't surprise me at all if there was something to this
  2. If they go down and Defoe is allowed to leave for nowt then that'll be fun to watch.
  3. That's still more erotic than 50 Shades of Grey
  4. You get some dodgy punters in there like
  5. Giving that a listen now, remember it from the time, quality and a bit different. There were some great ones from around that era. I was listening to the Andrew Weatherall one from 96 recently and it hasn't dated a bit. Edit: Here's a tracklist for the David Holmes one if you're interested: http://www.phuturelabs.com/word/mixes/lazy-sundays-david-holmes-essential-mix-1997/
  6. I forgot about that, it was that Bavaria lager (which is actually Dutch) iirc.
  7. Supposedly ever since he broke into the Yorkshire side people shut up and listened when he was talking. Think it was Boycott said that
  8. Of course, it being true is what makes it so annoying for them
  9. I think he actually said that that's how they get away with it, i.e. them being a club which isn't in the media glare / is a bit small time, which no doubt endeared him to the fanbase even more.
  10. Is Twilight the one where the vampires all look like they've got the flu?
  11. It's all like sex scenes without any actual descriptions of sex, "He ravaged her" and all that shite. It was basically to do with novels being written to a formula. Because there's fucking 100s of them but they're more or less all the same. But there's also some dodgy rape fantasy stuff in there which, as you can probably imagine, the right-on lecturers were all over like a rash. The saving grace was you could probably read one in about an hour and a half.
  12. The Secret Footballer has made specifc reference to it on more than one occasion
  13. I don't know tbh but he's obviously in the frame down the line to even be getting interviewed at this stage. Will probably be made vice-captain.
  14. Aye, haven't watched Twilight either but I read somewhere it was fan fiction from that. She's made plenty money out of it like so fair play I suppose. As an aside, I did English for my degree and we once had to read a Mills and Boon book. Fuck me gently
  15. I've missed the odd game on TV too, our record is even worse when you filter it down to games on the TV I've watched.
  16. Aye, Sunderland lad I worked with reckons it was the same story with Poyet too. Although "Catts" has supposedly settled down a bit the culture remains the same.
  17. Aye I think he might get it in the future as well though.
  18. It's like the old boilers in some of the big offices I used to work in, i.e. it's the ones who never see any action are the ones who are always talking about it. That's the demographic in general. Not saying that's what your lass is like btw
  19. As HF mentions, Ichi the Killer is class. Boiling Point too with, you've guessed it, Takeshi Kitano
  20. I can't remember the exact details but I read something re: South Africa 2010 where they had a zone around every stadium and within it all the concession stands etc were exempt from the usual taxes etc. within the country. Then for London 2012 you had places being threatened with legal action such as some cafe advertising an "Olympic Breakfast" because it's only the massive companies that pay to be the official beverage or whatever that are allowed to even use the name in the host cities.
  21. Think it's just a case of gong through the motions because it's already been decided it'll be Root
  22. That bit where they're betting on the roll of a dice and he keeps guessing right
  23. Just reinforces the point about it not being a saving really. Takes all the (albeit limited) bargaining power away from the match-going fans too.
  24. Aye, he's in fucking loads of them. I'll have a think as I used to watch loads and they all seem to blur into one after a while (I know, "Reported"). However, I would recommend Zatoichi, not a Yakuza film, it's a samurai film with him in but the mood is more akin to the Sergio Leone Spaghetti Westerns (which were heavily influenced by Japanese cinema / Kurosawa anyway, as you probably know). Another Lonely Hitman was decent, off the top of my head.
