Ferdinand the latest big name to snub Newcastle
acrossthepond replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
" " So now the Independent have unilaterally decided that our transfers are indeed conducted by Wise and co? Again, this reeks of a media who have no bleeding idea what is going on inside our club. p.s. Anton Ferdinand = no thanks. Championship defender at best whose career limps on because of his association with Rio. -
Right, as soon as I get done shagging Adriana Lima and head over to SJP for the FA cup presentation ceremony like

Over here it's not a question of Obama having it sewn up, it's a question of McCain having it sewn up. The general sentiment is that he's the heir apparent. Even where I live (New York), there's a general feeling of desperation about Obama's chances. He is the better candidate by far, largely because McCain has no personality and no grasp of world issues, but there's so much baggage surrounding Obama that it seems a foregone conclusion. I fully believe the New Yorker ran it in satire of Obama's opponents. It'd be a cold day in hell when the New Yorker abandons its liberal leanings. That said, there was no explanation for it, no tagline, nothing that might explain it to those less-prepared to grasp its meaning.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7505953.stm 1 in 10 Americans still thinks he's a Muslim. Even without going into the issue of how calling someone a Muslim is able to single-handedly wreck them, I feel sorry for him. I mean, what does he have to do? He's already been publicly to church services, denounced the rumors a hundred times, but the Middle America paranoids are still ready to fire John McBush into the presidency.

TERRORIST TOON UNVEIL NEW SIGNING! DALEK TELLS REPORTERS OF PLANS TO SET THE LEAGUE 'ALIGHT'! ...sorry

"Sir Harry Redknapp"? Piss off you south coast nobodies. Also, if Rovers lose Friedel and "gain" Paul Robinson, that'll be a sight to see.

Get on then Duff you waster.

I really don't like this "undisclosed fee in the region of 3.5mil" business. I'm fine with the signing, even the most obstinate must see that we need to fill out the squad, but he's never worth 3.5mil unless he's got loads of untapped potential we haven't seen.

That's well written, that. Short and to the point.

Newcastle and Hearts on top table after G14 break-up
acrossthepond replied to Tom's topic in Newcastle Forum
Appearently we're going upmarket and preparing a 25million bid for David Villa. Now that would be great if it came off. Your lot are so broke you want 20mil for Crouch and tried to barter some nobodies to us for Milner and Finnan and some others for Barry, but you've got 25mil to bid for David Villa? 18mil out for Barry - 10mil in for Crouch...you're still down 8mil. Where's this money going to come from? How do you know all that is true? I doubt we were even seriously in for Milner at all, Pennant is better imo. Insua being one of the possible youngsters offered shows how wrong the speculation was, he's a great little player and far too good to let go. With sales and the 20 million budget given by the owners Rafa could have around 50 million to spend. I don't think he'll go for Villa but it's not an impossibility. Benitez on Crouch: Also, a few people in the press were talking about £7million – so then I talked about £15million because I wanted to protect the club. This will be Benny's last season at Anfield. If the press have anything to do with it, it will. Agreed 100% here. He might not last till Christmas. They've got their knives out for him already, imo. For me, the Milner link is just too pervasive to be completely made-up. I doubt he was first choice for Liverpool but I don't doubt for a moment they've enquired. While you're visiting, what do you really think of Barry? I'm more than a little sceptical, don't think he's nearly worth 18mil and I don't think having one decent season and some England action justifies the kind of silly money that Villa want for him. -

How are these CL clubs so skint they have to ask 20mil for Crouch and 36mil for Adebayor? Do they honestly think there's someone out there who will pay that? Jo for 18mil is hilarious also. More money than sense, Man City.

Howay man, at least fire something better out than that if you're going to try and be a WUM. No WUMing here fella, just amazed at all the "I was out of it for a week" stuff. Its a jippy tummy, get over it. Do you and Torres have some sort of pact going on? It seems every time one of your crack gets better, the other's gets worse. Piss off, will you? I can't believe we've tolerated you this long, you were a WUM from the start.

Saviola joined Madrid for the express purpose of sitting on their bench and collecting mega money. He'll want similar money if he comes here and I can't see him being anything but another mercenary.

Newcastle and Hearts on top table after G14 break-up

Fuck me. That one is going in my sig. Do you really mean that? Do you really think because you got a wild card to this meeting that you are punching with the Milans, Madrid and Barcas? HAHAHA That is without fail the most delusional thing I have ever heard. Bar none. We do sit round the table with them you tosser. FACT. That's the whole point of this group. Where did I ever say we were on a level with them? In fact I made sure not to imply any such thing, predicting your response. We are miles away from them. And your sad lot are even further away. When was the last time such teams as Inter, Barcelona, and Juventus were seen at White Hart Lane? -

You're talking shite Danny. The only thing that matters is winning? Our CL seasons mean nothing? As they say, you can't win it if you aren't in it. Which Spurs have never been. As for finishing runners up in the league not mattering, if you finished second in the league this season you and the ten or so north Londoners who aren't supporting the vastly more successful Arsenal would be squealing with joy. NUFC = 5th biggest club in England. We sit round the table with Milan, Madrid, Barca, and the elite clubs of Europe. Tottenham Hotspur don't even register on their radar, League Cup or no two-bit aluminum foil cup. -

Our little hometown club, all grown up -
Haway man! Now that's the kind of news you want to read before heading off to work. I'll be walking with a skip in my step all day. Typical KK to bring us an out-of-the-blue signing - and great that he's identified we needed help on the wings. Really excited - who will he come up with next?

Head today, gone tomorrow?

Not asking for an invite, Fish lad, but would you mind explaining what this business is exactly? A sort of MMO for FM?

Podolski's there, but as a midfielder. And I'd definitely swap Semih for Torres, who really contributed very little but is on there because he scored the winning goal on the final (oh by the way did you hear he plays in England? For Liverpool?) Sneijder went missing (actually he didn't just go missing, he actively contributed to his team's defeat with his awful wastes of possession) in his side's most important game too...which incidentally was the one in which Arshavin was earning his place in this selection.

Bolded #1 = :D Bolded #2 =

None of the bolded belong. I'd also have Boruc instead of VdS, who didn't really distinguish himself I thought. Holland's wins were comfortable and their loss was abject, the keeper didn't have much say in either, I thought, whereas Boruc singlehandedly kept Poland from being a laughingstock.

We know by now that time knows how to fly... Seriously, though, there must be some way we can terminate his contract now.
