In the sense that Big Mitch is EN FUEGO. That's the only reasonable description for a man that has just fleeced Juventus for £20m for Lloyd Kelly. If we had signed Kelly on loan with even an OPTION to buy him for £20m this month, there is no way we'd be exercising that option. I'm not even sure we'd be interested for half that amount.

That's the issue, we're leaving ourselves very short if Trippier goes too. If the money is right though. I know the rest of this season is important, but deals like this could be huge come the summer.

The lad has got stuff going on that it would take more than just Howe to sort out imo. And it would be an incredibly expensive experiment. I think we're well out of it. If he'd take £50k a week until he'd proved himself, go for it, but as it stands it's a non starter for any club with sense imo. He's playing for his boyhood club and he couldn't give a shit.

Lads, we're just gonna have to wait til the end of the summer window to make an assessment of Mitchell. If it transpires that we don't have a list of targets and the bloke has just been brought in to sell sell sell, then I'll hold my hands up at the end of August and admit he's a plank. But if I'm right and we have a list of targets that we're laser focused on, and won't be distracted by "ooo so and so's available, let's just get him in cos we're temporarily short", that's the sort of club we should hope to be. Much rather that than be the sort of club that signz Rashford on loan and pays "a significant proportion" of his £350k a week as some sort of experiment/rehabilitation exercise.

It's about targets being available. We want good players. Good players aren't made available for sale by their teams in January. The deal Juventus are making is a January transfer deal - get in a warm body. We're not in that game anymore. If our targets aren't available we shouldn't sign anyone at all.
