  1. This is great news - providing we can get replacements in by August, though releasing that many defenders they must be fairly confident. Feels good to have things moving so early in the close season.
  2. Damn straight I'd take Trabelsi on a free, I can't imagine why he didn't work out at City, was a great player prior to moving there and I'm sure Sam could work his magic to get the best out of him again.
  3. Lol, I'm surprised he didn't do a bit of his gay goading like he did with Graeme Le Saux
  4. Doubt it, it's too late for any of the organisations to do anything now so West Ham will weasel their way out of it.
  5. I'm actually feeling more excited than I originally thought I would, guess the hype's getting to me but whatever it is I'm a happy bunny and will be looking forward to next season to see what Big Sam can do.
  6. Sounds like 5 Live will have it on at 1pm, though they haven't made it clear how much of it.
  7. A couple of things attributed to Sam saying already: Is going to sit down and have a chat with Owen over whether he wants to play for the toon or not. All the digs about him playing long ball teams is nonsense, he plays whatever needs to be played to win games. He's totally focused on his club job before any country opportunity that may arise, he's not interested in the England job as Newcastle's a massive job in itself. The chairman's passion for the club and backing of his managers swung his decision amongst other things.
  8. I'd get shot of: Babayaro Bramble Moore Carr Gooch Luque Dyer Along with Zoggy and Martins if they're going to be stroppy and don't want to play for us. Problem is getting rid of all those is going to leave us a tad short throughout an already small squad - I guess the defensive overhaul is the main priority, the others could be done come January or the end of next season, it's going to take time whatever happens.
  9. Jesus, makes you cringe to see the cretinous mongaloids come out in their droves just to be caught by the tv cameras, it doesn't make a good impression
  10. Spot on, Souness was the useless shite that ruined the team, Glenn just couldn't sort out the mess. Plus on top of that Souness had a big styley attitude problem.
  11. Amazing what the sacking of the Man City manager can bring about!!!
  12. You just knew it'd happen... Fat Freddy dragged his arse and now it'll likely be that we have to wait even longer on getting a new manager be it Big Sam or whoever. Personally though I can see Jewell going to City, at least that'd make more sense. Wigan shown their lack of ambition by signing up their own number two... never works does that.
  13. Aye I don't know how we can jump in ahead of anyone without a manager like. Very true, why would we sign players before the new manager's come in and decided who he wants to keep or bring in himself. Still, on the subject of older players like Fowler and Xavier, Sam's managed to squeeze an extra season or two out of other players before, no reason why he couldn't do it here as well to utilize a couple of players to pad out the squad. I'd take Fowler for that but I'm not sure about the other two mentioned.
  14. I can see where Al's coming from but an annoucement from Owen to finally lay these clauses to rest would be the best thing to dispell the rumours. Still, if Big Al says Owen's staying then he's staying
  15. So it won't affect his Man Utd medical then? Ah well...
  16. Fred also wanted Robson after Keegan but couldn't get him at the time, if he'd got him I wonder if things would have been different. What I'm saying is Fred had it set in his mind which managers he wanted but couldn't get them initially when he wanted - who knows where we'd be now if Fred had gone from Keegan to Robson to Sam? It would seem he had a longer term plan of who should manage NUFC but just couldn't get the right men at the right time and then made mistakes filling in for his number one choices. I'm happy to see how Sam does, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt over the Panorama incident until he gives me cause to complain. And yes, given the right circumstances (as any manager needs) I think he could potentially win us silverware.
  17. Is it me or did the Serbian lezzer that won it look like Bilbo Baggins out of the old Lord of the Rings cartoon? Bloody hobbits.
  18. It must be about time The UK boycotted this stupid competition? (I use the term 'competition' in the loosest fashion). The Eastern European countries have taken any entertainment out of it, it's the same old shite year in year out - they could decide the votes before ever listening to the songs. Pathetic dross.
  19. Houlier was just a rumour, the man didn't confirm anything that I heard or read so linking him is a moot point. Sven was the only person to throw his hat in and to be honest I'd rather have Sam over him.
  20. I'm fed up with people moaning all the time and not giving anyone a chance regardless of who signs (unless it's actually the very god of football management himself!). It's just getting really tedious that everytime we are in this situation there's always a portion of fans willing to bitch and whine about things and generally be unsatisfiable - no wonder the rest of the footballing community thinks we're a bunch of clowns. Fickle doesn't even begin to describe some people.
  21. Good news. Nailed on to stay now, tbh. Trying to cover all aspects whatever happens during the summer, Oliver is as good a journo as I am a nuclear engineer (and I'm not btw)
  22. A complete fecking arsehole, can't stand the bloke but sadly I can't deny that he's good manager.
  23. They're both embarassing but personally I find Oliver the worst of the two because the media and other supporters seem to have it in their head that he's 'the voice of the fans', which he really is not.
  24. I've got no problem with Owen playing for England as long as he's fit enough... however, if he goes against the wishes of his wage payers to do so and gets himself injured I would sue the arse off him and the FA if I were running NUFC.
  25. I just hope the gypsy theiving scouser's unemployment benefit comes out in time for them to buy their tickets or there will be a lot of teles stolen so they can watch the match... dirty bin-dippers
