I was at a thing at Old Trafford recently and Frank Stapleton did a bit of a talk. I was talking to the guy who was with him (who does match day stuff with him) and he asked me who I supported and who my favourite player ever for us was. He was shocked when I said David Kelly rather than Shearer, Beardsley or Gazza etc. In fact he couldn't even remember Kelly. I coudln't really blame him for that as he wasn't a memorable player to supporters of other teams but personally I value the effort he put in with his much more limited ability (as well as saving us from the third division). I could have just as easily said Davey Mac or John Anderson because they showed more of what football should really be about than all of the cunts we have playing for us now could ever muster combined. And they did it without the bullshit chest pumping as posturing that players do these days.

I'll not be sad to see him leave when we go down. And you can add Sissoko and Janmaat to that too. I'm sick to death of seeing such gutless players play for us. I'm disgusted to think of their attitudes compared to we used to have when I first started going to games.

I'd go with a nice Barolo for a twitter rant.

Think that true for both of you really. Especially the alcohol.

I really don't understand why you're still replying to him Fish. The man is unhinged. That said, the two of you brighten up my twitter feed to keep it up.

I think the spaceship stuff on the prequels probably holds up ok and even Jar Jar but it's shit like Watto, The Robot Army, The Geonocians and my particular pet hate Dex that really look piss poor.
-
A lot of the CGI in the prequels wasn't very good as well as being totally overused (particularly in AOTC). TFA used CGI much more sparingly and it was of a much better quality.

We've had two previous relegations (at least)in your lifetime Fish.

I fucking hope not. I actually fancy Anita to be one who goes in the summer. I certainly hope so. Actually I think I'm being a bit harsh on Abeid. I don't actually think he's necessarily a bad player. He never really had enough games to show one way or another. It's the amount of people who jumped on those couple of good games annoys me, when most of the (limited) games he played were nowhere near that standard. But he was a young lad who had never had much of a go so it was never fair to write him off either.

Being top dog gives no pleasure if it's just the top shit team. I don't base my goals for the season on finishing above that lot. Finishing 3rd bottom and them finishing 2nd bottom would give me no comfort at all. And finishing 12th and them 13th means little more. I just want us to do well. But them doing poorly at the same time gives me even more pleasure.
-
Unless he has come on a lot this season I don't view any of them as premiership players but I imagine two of them could do a job for us next season. I think Anita will be even less effective in the championship.
-
Yes it would. Just as it will bother me if they stay up. I will focus on us and not use them as a barometer of how well we are doing but of course I want us to do better than them.

He had a couple of good games when the team went against type and also played well. Then he got injured again and when he came back he was poor. It never ceases to amaze me how he had a couple of decent games and all of a sudden supporters were saying he had this and that in his locker. Apart from the those couple of games he was bang average and no one could even make out what type of midfielder he was supposed to be. I don't rate Colback or Anita but they've both had more good games than Abeid and everyone is calling them shite. There was a reason he was deemed surplus to requirements and only German second division or Greek teams were interested in him. Of course another season of first team football might have improved him but when he was here looked worse than what we already have.

Yeah I thought exactly the same thing. -
I knew it was based on comics but had no idea how close it was staying to them at this stage.

48 most of them I knew I think. My guesses usually seemed to be wrong. -
I hate everything about Sunderland (particularly the wife). Liverpool's bunch of self obsessed, whinging cunts have overtaken Man Utd as my only other real hatred. I have no time for any other club but most of them are insignificant to me other than when we play they or if they're a direct rival in the league. Middlesbrough are pretty much as insignificant as the rest and I find it hilarious that they think they have some sort of rivalry with us.

10 Cloverfield Lane. At least two different films in one and it felt a bit like the Cloverfield thing had just been tacked on to a different film. But I still thoroughly enjoyed it even if it wasn't as good as the trailer and (at least part of) the ending was a bit daft. Hail Ceaser. Not one of the Coen's best films but one of their most easily enjoyable. How To Plan An Orgy In A Small Town. Pretty decent sex comedy aimed at adults rather than the younger aim of the likes of American Pie. -
He's just like Colback. Average as fuck.

I'm not talking about forcing them to stay. I reckon a big reason players want to leave relegated clubs is that they don't want to lose money. Most of them won't go to champions league or title chasing clubs or they wouldn't be playing for relegated clubs in the first place. Money is the major factor in most of our players minds.
-
Apparently. This could actually be a good thing in terms of player retention. The ones who are itching to leave (Sissoko, Janmaat, Cisse, Tiote etc) will leave anyway but any who are in two minds will be more inclined to stay and have a go at getting us promoted as they are still going to be on premiership wages.
-
Apparently he's going to change his number to 16 next season. Or maybe 1.6, or maybe 16.1.
-
Mitrovic wouldn't have to take a pay cut when we go down either. That's another reason why he might stay for a season.
