I'm off to see Frankie Boyle later in the year, not a massive fan but my mate bought me tickets for my birthday so it should be a good laugh. I personally think he just couldn't persuade his Mrs to go with him so he's taking me instead as a 'present.' I'm usually quite picky (or even snobby I suppose) with standups and have upset people in the past by refusing to go and see someone allegedly funny and popular but actually really average. I have certain rules with standups; the most important being that if I can see your punchline coming a mile off then you're shit. Also there's no going back to anyone who make's cheap northern jokes that they used to do in the 70's about scousers nicking hubcaps etc (I'm looking at you Michael McIntyre)

Well then you should have watched the other 180 minutes/95% of it then..

I have to say, I thought Life's Too Short was the best thing Gervais and Merchant have ever done. Warwick Davis was superb in it.

Relegation - would it really be such a bad thing?

You know, I've been waiting for this thread to pop up again.. -
I'm with Stevie on this one in that I think it can pretty much depend on your perosnality. I know two friends who moved down there at the same time, both into excellent jobs they wanted and trained for. One loved the job, but hated London - the commute, how busy it was, the pace of it - and after six months finally jacked it to come back up north. The other didn't like the job as much as she thought but loved London and is still there 10 years later, loves the place. Horses for courses.

Finally got round to watching Gran Torino at the weekend after it constantly being put off etc. Loved it, have really enjoyed everything Eastwood has directed. -
I'm not defending the scousers, but I think it's been dragged on because of the (alleged) injustice behind it. I think the only thing that would make it go away would be if prosecutions starting happening, but that's not going to happen is it..

That Bradford fire video shouldn't be on Youtube. I've been to Fire Warden training a few times with the fire Brigade and the agreement is that only they are allowed to show it for educational purposes. The guy who is on fire in the middle of the pitch was not in the fire, he simply ignited from being so close to it due to the heat. Scary stuff.

BBC News, Twitter, Guardian Tech, Football365. I used to always check the BBC Sport pages but since they changed it to looking like someone had thrown up all over the screen I simply can't stomach it.

I heard someone further along from us shout 'this is a discrimination this like!' canny loudly but judging by the laughter I thought he was taking the piss.

So much to enjoy about yesterday, you don't know where to start! It's good to see that Liverpool are taking our crown as the biggest team to laugh at in the PL. Alas, our performance is being played down/virtually ignored due to it being all about Liverpool, which is a shame.

I thought he was a coward when we played Wolves at Molineaux, bottled 3 50/50 ballls that afternoon. I thought he was a poor player when he played for Manu v Southampton in the cup last season. Hes done nothing since then to change my mind. Yeah, it's all a bit half arsed for me as well. We were told when we signed him that he would scare defenders with his blistering pace..except he looks like he doesn't want to spring in case he gets tired/injured. I think it's also the fact that he gives the ball away far too easily (his decision making is piss poor) and then leaves everyone else to clear it up.
-
I'd agree with that, he is playing too deep and was probably told to by management as we expected to be attacked at pace last night. Good player, just having a few off weeks for form. To be honest though, I think the whole team looks like it might have hit a bit of a wall, we need a second wind from somewhere.

Def convinced he is the new Robert and until the day he leaves he'll massively divide supporters. There is no doubting the boy is brilliant but like Robert he wing hogs, disappears completely at times, and looks far too easy for opposition players to ghost past. Hey, I'm not saying I expect him to be able to defend brilliantly, but it was quite scary how easily Arsenal players just ran around him with the ball..little more effort needed on his behalf. Having said that, the only way he will learn this is to play him week in and week out. He should start every game till the end of the season now for me, the run will do him good I reckon/hope.
-
Nothing has changed. He's too shite for the PL, but he is a trier/grafter.
-
Obertan a bit too powder puff for me to quote an old saying. He constantly plays like he's conserving energy and avoiding being injured therefore he doesn't break his arse for a 50-50. I'm not calling him lazy though, I just think it's the way he plays. Needs to man up a bit.

Hasn't looked right since he came back from suspension. Tiredness not an excuse though I'm afraid, sorry like.

Newcastle United vs Dirty Inbred Mackems (Sunderland)

Remember as well, these 'passionate' safc players probably all got in their cars straight after the game and drove to the Quayside/Darras Hall/deepest Northumberland where they all live. -

I think Dean's problem was that he set his stall out to show he wasn't going to get intimidated by the holstile home crowd and ended up overcomponsating for that by giving us very little. Seen it happen a fair bit with refs who've come up here but this was certainly the worst case of it. -

Excellent, lad from our prenatal class (I know, how middle class) looks like he had some sort of drunken breakdown/rant on Facebook last night about Pardew being a 'classless gambling addict.' Thet lad is canny quiet and I said to wor lass there's something I didn't like about him..now I know..closet mackem. Made himself look like a right prick. -

There probably isn't much to add other than I'm so glad I wasn't born a few miles down the road and had to support that shower of shite. If I was them this morning I wouldn't be proud that my team hung on and nearly won with 10 men, I'd be embarrassed with the way my team decided to kick lumps out of the opposition. I'd be more embarrassed that my captain is nowt but a thug who thinks it's acceptable to put career threating tackles in, who can't keep his big mouth shut and has now got himself suspended for 3 games, who also looked like he was congratulating his own player who'd just struck an opponent as he went off. GREAT way to lead from the front and a shining example to young mackem fans. I seen some wanker mackem players in my time (Hardyman anyone?) but Cattermole really is the lowest of the low. What a total cunt. -
Think I've decided to do minimum to get it through it's MOT, take it to a VW dealership and get them to run it through their diagnostic, then flog it to them part exchange. Still depressing!

Aye, that's always been the problem with any of the NHL games, I get bored of not being able to score! Story of my teenage years to be honest..
