Aye, just screengrab any QR code, who's going to cross reference? Let's be generous and say it takes a minute to do this. That would lead to queues hours long at SJP. So either lock down properly or don't bother at all imo.

How does the NHS app work? Over here you have a selfie and ‘hologram’ to make sure you are who you say you are and that it isn’t a screenshot.

I was at an arena event last week (okay it was Disney on Ice) but there were 8,000 people entering through one entrance and it all went fairly smoothly with everyone showing their QR code.

I’ve been at loads of large-scale events since summer alongside thousands and it’s mostly  been as Renton describes - a cursory glance at a qr code, often just waved straight through without being checked at all.

As long as they don’t close the schools

Dunno like. Kids ain't as prone to getting ill but they're the fucking harbingers of germs. There's one kid left in my sons class right now and while I don't like to make assumptions the gambler in me would bet his parents probably just haven't tested him.

we need to consider the real victims of the pandemic - my annual christmas piss up with friends has just been downgraded to outdoor pub garden in the freezing cold for the second year running.

Radge man. I've just seen that. And just as they want everyone to be doing rapid tests at home if theyve come into contact with someone. Good luck with that now.

We've got a load cos my lass gets them from school, but this is another top quality fuckup.

I’ve got a set of 7 I’ve had for about 6 weeks. I’ll probably save them for Christmas (or symptoms <_<)  but know people who have plenty tbh.

So stupid though

i went for the walk in booster last week and the appointment queue was much shorter - looked about 10 minute wait rather than the 45 minute queue i was in

Aye, similar story here - better half has just been down to the local centre to see if he could get a walk-in (he's got an appointment later in the week anyway, but figured he might as well try and get as much protection as possible before Christmas) and the walk-in queue had easily 100 people in it, but appointments were going straight to the front.

Just had an update from Norwich daughter in law's test came back positive. Looks like the 2 younger grandsons probably have it as well. Thats potentially all 4 of them got it as predicted by the test & trace person who rang 2 days ago
